We have a very exciting Fac Broker role based in Dubai at SHIELDS Reinsurance Brokers Ltd regulated by the DFSA and admitted at Lloyd’s of London.

 

You will undertake advisory work and play an active role in broking contracts. You will be involved in both the assessment of our clients’ risk and the financial implications of the solutions we propose.

 

Job Description Facultative Broker:

 

·       Facilitate the compilation of submission information in conjunction with senior management Instructions.

·       Finalize market submission and handle initial discussions with  clients and relationship managers.

·       Prepare clients’ and markets’ presentations in Excel, Word and PowerPoint formats

·       Understand and manage client needs and be able to advise clients with (re)insurance purchasing strategies

·       Obtain quotations, negotiate renewals and finalise placements with reinsurers.

·       Establish professional working relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and relevant external contacts

·       Maintain constant contact with clients and reinsurers.

·       Work with the existing client service teams on the day to day handling of an account.

·       Dealing with enquiries and endorsements on new and existing placements.

·       Prepare and maintain Technical documentation and ensure risks and documentation conform to regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for producing and checking the technical documentation, Open Market, Lineslips and Binding Authorities as well as producing and review of wordings and drafting amendments.

·       Adhere to all best practices and highest standards of professionalism and ethical behaviour in all activities.

 

 Experience / Requirements:

 

·       Native or Bilingual English speaker with Arabic and/or French is a requirement,

·       Experience with reinsurance broking or placement is a must,

·       Knowledge of Insurance and Reinsurance Products and classes of business, relevant experience in Liabilities and Financial Lines is a must.

·       Quick to learn new skills, comfortable communicating with clients and reinsurers, doing technical work; data analysis and contract work.

 

Qualifications:

 

Preferably holding a diploma in Higher Education with minimum 5 years’ experience as a reinsurance placing broker or relevant industry experience.

Preferably with professional qualification of ACll or ENASS or working towards.

 

Skills:

 

The candidate will be expected to interact regularly with clients in order to successfully originate and complete each transaction, with an ability to operate independently and technically capable of the work required to be completed.

·       Strong verbal and written communication skills with and the ability to explain matters to non-specialists.

·       Passion for the (re)insurance sector and a good understanding of the industry

·       Strong analytical and numerical skills – to quickly grasp complex issues

·       Flexible approach to work and able to adapt to change; team player

·       Ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail

·       Good IT skills

·       Desire to take early responsibilities

·       High degree of self-discipline and commitment
