<strong>Position </strong> : Regreening Support Specialist<p><br></p><strong> Reports to </strong> : Land Mobility<p><br></p><strong> Sector: </strong> Land Mobility<p><br></p><strong> Job Location: </strong> NEOM<p><br></p><strong> The Role Purpose: </strong><p><br></p><ul><li> To assist the Regreening Team in achieving regreening management goals and objectives through effective implementation of operational strategies. </li><li> Take direction from the regreening Lead and implement regreening strategies in compliance with legislation and operational guidelines. </li><li> This includes, but is not limited to seed collection, supporting the timed roll-out of planting, oversight of construction, nurseries, irrigation, materiel purchases, and record keeping/reporting. </li><li> Ensure cooperation and synergy between contractors, departments, and conservation bodies as far as Regreening matters are concerned. </li><li> Build and maintain good communication and relationships with internal and external stakeholders. </li><li> Monitor the capacity and actions of operators and consultants. </li><li> Implementation and administration of approved Regreening policy according to agreed management and operational plans as well as stipulations of relevant legislation. </li><li> Participating in activities and providing inputs on environmental matters in the regreening areas of the nature region. </li><li> Assist in developing and implement effective regreening initiatives as required. </li><li> To explore, test, and apply innovative and useful technological tools that can assist in effective regreening approaches </li></ul><p><br></p><strong> Key Accountabilities & Activities: </strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Work closely with representatives of other sectors and with external stakeholders to raise awareness of regreening objectives, opportunities, and challenges and support their regreening and management efforts through integration into project design and delivery in relation to the values of NEOM. </li><li> Help plan & develop appropriate regreening assets that will contribute towards the success of effective regreening objectives. </li><li> Identify, organise, procure, and work with the Regreening Team and affiliated contractors and consultants to assist in construction, management, and maintenance of regreening facilities, services and equipment as required. </li><li> Guide and build the capacity of regreening personnel; full time employees (FTEs), consultants (SMPs) and external contractors as required. </li><li> Help instill a culture of development, guidance, and performance within Neomβs nature region and the Regreening Programme. </li><li> Contribute to the monitoring and reporting on the progress and efficacy of regreening initiatives and activities. </li><li> Contribute to identifying, testing, and reporting on new approaches and technologies in regreening. </li><li> Help establish health, condition standards and best practice testing and monitoring protocols for different plant species. </li><li> Contribute to the health and safety of all stakeholders and staff conducting business with Regreening. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong> Education and Certifications </strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Experience in regreening and the desire to learn the most recent regreening developments and apply them as an implementor. </li><li> Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. </li><li> Report writing, planning and field experience. </li><li> Experience working in an international work environment. </li><li> Experience working with contractors, consultants, and other related partners. </li><li> A willingness to learn new concepts and approaches. </li><li> Strong self-management skills and the ability to work in remote locations with limited oversight to achieve successful outcomes. </li><li> Have practical skills in understanding and acting upon written and verbal requests (incl. reports, proposals, scopes of work, etc.) </li><li> Have the ability to oversee contractors. </li><li> The ability to meet hard deadlines as required. </li><li> Have a creative and agile approach to workplace challenges, the ability to adapt and find solutions to rapidly changing conditions and challenges, particularly in the field. </li><li> A willingness and ability to conduct fieldwork in Arabian desert, savanna, and montane arid environments for extended periods of time. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Qualifications</strong><p><br></p>Varied experience and background in field work and the ability to implementation assigned tasks in a timely manner.
