Job Description
Job Purpose / Objective
Responsible to provide safe, effective Nursing care to medically ill pre post-operative patients using professional knowledge and skills as per HMG policies and procedures as well as ensuring that assigned patients are receiving the required multidisciplinary care on time.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Receive the assigned patients as per the daily assignments:
- Apply Nursing Care process to assigned patient as per the approved policy.
- Develop individualized Nursing Care plan reflecting collaboration with other team members.
- Monitor patient status, reporting any deviation / abnormal findings to team leader and doctor on duty within time frame.
- Carry out doctor’s order in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide individualized patient / family education as per their needs.
- Document patient assessment findings, physical responses to the Nursing intervention and status progress.
- Initiate emergency and resuscitative measures as needed.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Maintain the required mandatory unit specific competency as per the approved competency matrix.
- Demonstrate sense of flexibility to meet work needs, including pull out, floating as needed.
- Adhere to JCIA / CBAHI standards and HMG policies.
- Provide clinical supervision and support to the assigned shift whenever assigned as shift in charge (team leader) to ensure that patients are receiving the required care which includes but limited:
- Conduct round at patient’s area
- Report to nursing supervision any unusual incidents
- Attend doctor’s rounds
- Participate in the patient status presentation and endorsement.
- Attend the departmental education / training activities.
- Attends departmental meetings.
- Perform nursing procedure as required in the unit.
- Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
- Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
- Perform other applicable task and duties assigned by charge nurse /head Nurse within the realm of his / her knowledge, skills and abilities.
Education/ Professional Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent
- 3 years General Nursing Diploma
Experience
- Minimum one-year experience in relevant inpatient area.
Professional Licensing / Certification / Training
- BLS, or relevant certifications
- Valid Saudi Council & Licensed from Country of origin
