<p><br><br>The Opportunity (National – based in Jordan or Türkiye) <br> <br> <br> <br> Reporting to the Regional Humanitarian Leadership Academy Lead, the MEAL Officer will work to support the implementation and development of capacity-strengthening initiatives across the Turkey Syria Response <br> <br> The purpose of this role is to support the HLA to ensure its learning solutions approaches and methodologies are of the highest quality and underpinned by robust evidence, impact and research systems. <br> <br> You will be able to use a combination of your adult learning, research and analytical skills to support the development and delivery of capacity-strengthening interventions while identifying needs and creating a compelling case for investing in capacity strengthening. Working as part of a creative and fast-moving team you will be able to create systematic and manageable processes that will help us identify the wider impact of our existing learning and development programs. Your work will track the effectiveness of what we do and enable us to target our learning initiatives in a way that has the biggest impact. <br> <br> This role will sit within the MENAEE regional response unit and the Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA), a member-neutral entity that provides capacity strengthening across the Save the Children movement. The team combines digital learning platforms, creative learning content, and the design, development, and delivery of quality accredited capacity strengthening and learning in an exciting and innovative offer that is both unique and unmatched anywhere across the sector. Capacity-strengthening and user-centered learning is and will continue to be, of increasing importance – a key area to ensure the sector is able to respond effectively and efficiently to crises. The HLA enables Save the Children to offer the most effective and impactful humanitarian capacity-strengthening resource for both the Save the Children movement, the wider humanitarian sector and beyond. <br> <br> <br> <br> KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY : <br> <br><br></p><ul><li>Contribute at the project level towards the creation of an organizational culture that promotes MEAL and understands its link to quality and accountable programming <br> </li><li>Support the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the projects, including recording and analysing learning data, <br> </li><li>Support the preparation of quarterly reports for the project donor <br> </li><li>Support the tracking of participant learning outcomes based on pre identified learning objectives and present consolidated information and reports for analysis. <br> </li><li>Provides general administrative support as required <br> </li><li>Ability to travel when required <br> </li><li>The duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to carry out additional duties relative to their level of skills and experience. <br> </li><li>Support the development and delivery of capacity-strengthening initiatives in line with the regional capacity-strengthening strategy <br> </li><li>Work with the team on the development and ongoing application of monitoring, tracking, and reporting systems, tools, and templates across the team <br> </li><li>Advise and support in the design and collection of quantitative and qualitative data collection and ensure consistency across our programs <br> </li><li>Support the development of compelling communications to advocate for humanitarian capacity strengthening and to market learning programs drawing on qualitative and quantitative data gathered <br> </li><li>Take the lead on internal departmental monitoring and evaluation, for example reporting against annual indicators <br> </li><li>To conduct discrete research projects as and when required <br> </li><li>Contribute to proposal development <br> </li><li>Develop the appropriate external relationships to ensure the team is keeping up to date with sector initiatives and developments <br> </li><li>Carrying out the responsibilities of the role in a way that reflects Save the Children’s commitment to safeguarding children in accordance with the Child Safeguarding Policy <br> <br> <br> <br> In order to be successful you will bring/have: <br> <br> <br> <br> Qualifications: <br> </li><li>Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in the subject matter. A master’s degree in a related field is preferred <br> </li><li>Fluency in English is required, fluency in Arabic and/or Turkish, or both would be preferable <br> </li><li>3-7 years of experience in the related field <br> </li><li>Commitment to Save the Children values <br> <br> <br> <br> Essential Skills: <br> </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills with experience liaising with stakeholders and of working with people from a range of backgrounds and cultures. <br> </li><li>Proven ability to successfully work with a remote project team <br> </li><li>Understanding of data collection principles, including quantitative and qualitative methods <br> </li><li>Strong analytical skills and general curiosity in understanding data <br> </li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills, a ‘can-do’ attitude <br> </li><li>Ability to work on own initiative, cope with a high volume of work and prioritize against tight deadlines and under pressure <br> </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills <br> </li><li>Organised and methodical with good attention to detail <br> </li><li>Proactivity and ability to initiate tasks and follow up with them&gt; <br> </li><li>Good computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint <br> </li><li>Willingness and ability to operate an ‘open door’ policy with regards to colleagues seeking immediate information and support <br> </li><li>A flexible approach to working, with the willingness to work outside office hours occasionally and to be away from home for up to two weeks at a time e.g. on residential training courses <br> </li><li>Excellent project management skills; well organized, able to juggle multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines <br> </li><li>Understanding of and commitment to humanitarian work and experience of working for a humanitarian/development-focused NGO <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> Desirable <br> </li><li>Experience of writing successful proposals <br> </li><li>Experience of working in an international NGO <br> </li><li>Experience of conducting research and evaluation on programme impact – ideally of social change, capacity building or learning programmes <br> </li><li>Experience of working with and developing indicators and monitoring tools <br> </li><li>Experience designing and delivering training <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> The Organisation <br> <br> We employ approximately 25,000 people across the globe and work on the ground in over 100 countries to help children affected by crises, or those that need better healthcare, education and child protection.
