The company was founded on May 29, 1933 and is headquartered in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.</p> <p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p> <p>We are seeking an Engineer I to join SAMREF Max Chemicals (SMC) Division of the LTC Business &amp; Project Development Department to develop technical scope of work for Invitation To Bid (ITB) documents, Facility Design Basis document, and technical interface bases (e.g. process rates &amp; qualities to other units, utilities load, plot requirements). In addition, the candidate is expected to Coordinate remote support for additional Process Specialists as-needed to support Licensor selection and technical basis-setting. The Division is primarily responsible for SMC Project Development under This Company In- Kingdom Liquids to Chemicals Program (IK LTC) and drive the development of project assessment, and the delivery of project requirements through FEL I, FEL II and FEL III. SMC capital program is a refinery residue upgrade integrated with petrochemical steam cracker complex to be built in Yanbu, western region of Saudi Arabia. It is a part of This Company In-Kingdom Liquids To Chemicals (IK LTC) program which includes similar projects to be developed at the same time. Engineer I will be part of the Project Development &amp; Technology team reporting to the Manager and work closely with other refinery and chemical engineers.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Refine and implement Capital Efficiency items identified from prior grassroots steam cracker complexes</li> <li>Responsible for Steam Cracker and C4+ Co-products facility scope bases, technology selection recommendations, and technical input to LP and Economics</li> <li>Define Steam Cracker and Co-products Licensor selection bid slates, selection criteria &amp; methodology, with support from Technologist</li> <li>Recommend adjustments to technical analysis (along with Technologist), review analysis by Economic modeler, and make Licensor technical recommendations</li> <li>Develop, review &amp; approve ITB documents, Facility Design Basis document, and technical interface bases (e.g. process rates &amp; qualities to other units, utilities load, plot requirements) by Contractor</li> <li>Develop plan for technical readiness for Steam Cracker and Co-products</li> <li>Coordinate remote support for additional Process Specialists as-needed to support Licensor selection and technical basis-setting</li><br></ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.</strong></li> <li>Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized and approved program.</li> <li>Have a minimum of 15+ years of experience with a focus in the Refining &amp; Chemicals business and their integration.</li> <li>Have previous experience in Project Engineering, Design, and Execution for chemicals plants.</li> <li>Be capable of providing technical input to LP (Linear Programming) and Chemicals derivative process licensor selection.</li> <li>Have experience in Olefins and Polymers technical services.</li> <li>Have experience in Olefins and Polymers operation.</li> <li>Have experience in Chemicals derivative process licensor selection and technology analysis.</li> <li>Be capable of developing chemical process yields and qualities, opex (operating expenses).</li> <li>Have experience in Chemicals facility scope basis development.</li> <li>Have experience in Chemicals detail engineering and design.</li> <li>Be capable of providing technical input to LP and economics.</li></ul>
