As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with senior quantity surveyors and project teams to provide accurate cost estimation, quantity measurement, and financial management support for infrastructure projects in the UAE.<p><br></p>Your new role, what’s involved?<p><br></p><ul><li>Cost Estimation: Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for infrastructure projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors. Utilize industry-standard methods and tools to ensure accurate cost projections. </li><li>Quantity Measurement: Perform quantity takeoffs and measurements from architectural and engineering drawings to determine the required quantities of materials for construction projects. Maintain precise documentation and records of all measurements. </li><li>Bill of Quantities: Assist in the preparation of comprehensive bills of quantities (BOQ) based on project specifications and drawings. Ensure BOQs are accurate, complete, and in line with project requirements. </li><li>Tender Support: Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including compiling relevant technical and commercial information, liaising with subcontractors and suppliers, and coordinating tender submissions. </li><li>Cost Control: Support the senior quantity surveyors in monitoring project costs throughout the construction phase. Track variations, change orders, and assess their impact on project budgets. Prepare cost reports and provide recommendations for cost optimization. </li><li>Contract Administration: Assist in the administration of contracts, including reviewing and evaluating subcontractor/supplier payment applications, verifying quantities, and ensuring compliance with contractual terms. </li><li>Project Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including contracts, drawings, correspondence, and other relevant records. Assist in preparing progress reports and contribute to project meetings. </li><li>Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless communication and coordination in quantity surveying activities. </li></ul><p><br></p>We’d love to hear from you if you have:<p><br></p><ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required. Additional certifications or relevant training in quantity surveying would be advantageous. </li><li>Experience: Entry-level position; however, prior internship or work experience in quantity surveying or construction-related roles is preferred. </li><li>Knowledge: Basic understanding of quantity surveying principles, cost estimation, and measurement techniques. Familiarity with construction contracts, bill of quantities, and relevant industry standards. </li><li>Software Skills: Proficiency in using quantity surveying software applications (e.g., AutoCAD, CostX, Bluebeam Revu) and MS Office suite (particularly Excel and Word). </li><li>Analytical Skills: Strong numerical and analytical abilities with excellent attention to detail. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately. </li><li>Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to collaborate and interact professionally with team members and external stakeholders. </li><li>Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment. </li><li>Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, procedures, and industry practices.
