Job Description

<ul><li>Monitor patients vital signs such as heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing rate during exams</li><li>Prepare equipment and supplies for examinations such as x-rays, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and pulmonary function tests (PFTs)</li><li>Administer medications for various conditions, including asthma attacks, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, pneumonia, tuberculosis, and asthma</li><li>Teach patients about their condition, how to manage it, and how to cope with the stress of living with a chronic disease</li><li>Conduct diagnostic tests such as chest X-rays or sputum cultures to identify the cause of illness</li><li>Educate patients about their condition and treatments they are receiving</li><li>Record patients medical histories and physical exam findings in their files to track their progress over time</li><li>Observe patients during examinations to ensure that they are safe and comfortable</li><li>Administer breathing tests such as spirometry to measure lung function<br></li></ul><p><br></p>Qualifications/Skills:<p><br></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing preferred</li><li>Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice</li><li>Certification in CPR</li><li>2 years of experience in a healthcare related field preferred</li><li>Excellent communication skills</li><li>Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of professionalism during stressful times</li><li>Strong critical thinking skills</li><li>Dedicated to provide the best patient care possible</li><li>Must have general working knowledge of computers and department specific software<br></li></ul>
