Job Description
The Public Health BIM Technician is an integral member of the MEP team, responsible for supporting the implementation and utilization of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and technologies specific to public health systems. Working closely with the BIM Manager and design team, the Public Health BIM Technician plays a critical role in developing accurate and coordinated public health BIM models to ensure the successful delivery of MEP projects.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the design team to create accurate and coordinated public health BIM models using software such as Autodesk Revit.
- Ensure the integration of public health systems, fixtures, and equipment within the overall building model, coordinating with other disciplines.
- Assist in the creation and management of public health system families, templates, and libraries to enhance productivity and standardization.
- Conduct clash detection and coordination reviews to identify and resolve conflicts between public health systems and other building elements.
- Update and maintain BIM models throughout the project lifecycle, incorporating design changes and ensuring data accuracy.
- Generate detailed public health drawings, schedules, and reports from BIM models for documentation and coordination purposes.
- Collaborate with public health suppliers and manufacturers to incorporate accurate product data and specifications into BIM models.
- Support the BIM Manager in implementing BIM standards, guidelines, and best practices within the public health discipline.
- Assist in the coordination and integration of BIM deliverables with other project stakeholders, including contractors and consultants.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in BIM technology, public health design practices, and software tools.
- Provide technical support to the design team regarding BIM software usage, troubleshooting, and collaboration workflows.
- Participate in project meetings and interdisciplinary coordination sessions to contribute to the overall project objectives.
- Collaborate with the BIM team to ensure effective data exchange and coordination among all MEP disciplines.
- Maintain organized documentation of BIM models, revisions, and project-specific requirements.
- Adhere to established quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of public health BIM deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma or Associate’s degree in Public Health Engineering, BIM, or a related field.
- Proficiency in BIM software, particularly Autodesk Revit, and familiarity with other relevant tools.
- Understanding of public health systems and components commonly used in building services.
- Knowledge of BIM standards, practices, and coordination processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Engineering or a related field.
- Professional certifications in BIM (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional).
- Experience in using BIM software in the MEP industry.
