<strong>A Snapshot of Your Day<br><br></strong>The Lead Engineeris expected to utilize his/her expertise in the area of process design andanalysis to deliver quality projects to Siemens’ customers. These projectsfocus on process safety management withparticular emphasis on thearea of pressure reliefsystems. Candidate willdetermine the limitationsand capabilities of process units and their pressure relief systems and recommend actions or mitigationplans.<br><br>TheLead will work with a team of processengineers under the direction ofa Project Manager todeliver projects of a consistently high qualityto our domestic and international customers. TheLead will work directly withend users on technicalaspects of the projects and therefore must be able to communicate technical requirements and deliverables clearly and concisely. Desiredexperience includes pressurerelief device sizing,relief header and flare analysis, risk mitigation etc.<br><br><strong>How you’ll make an impact?<br><br></strong><ul><li>The successful candidate must have proven experience in process system design and analysis.</li><li>Able to demonstrateknowledge and understanding in the area of Process Safety Management andindustry guidelines including:</li><ul><li> API 520/521/526/200 andASME codes </li><li>Process Safety Managementas defined in OSHA CFR 1910.119 with direct experience executing projects. <br></li></ul><li>Interpretation andimplementation of engineering data and industry standards to determine thelimitations and capabilities of process units and their pressure relief systemsand recommend actions or mitigation plans by:</li><ul><li> Developing overpressuresimulations or heat & material balance using process simulation tools.</li><li>Performing engineeringcalculations associated with pressure relief system design and analysis inPSPPM. </li><li>Analyzing vapor and liquiddisposal systems. <br></li></ul><li>Perform quality checks onprojects before delivery to the client and communicate technical requirementsand deliverables. </li><li>Provide new designspecification and action plan preparation upon understanding customerrequirements to be in compliance with the regulations. </li><li>The Lead Engineer isresponsible for meeting the quality targets of the executed engineeringanalysis. The LE represents the technical authority of the assigned project ortask. </li><li>The LE will work withinternal project engineers and end users on the technical aspects of theproject or task. Therefore, the LE must be able to communicate technicalrequirements and deliverables clearly and concisely. </li><li>Support sales opportunitiesby clearly and fluently explaining best practices and value proposition tosupport customer needs. </li><li>Expected travel up to 25%domestically and internationally<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>What you bring?<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’sdegree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.</li><li>Minimum7 years’ experience in a refining or petrochemical operating and/or engineeringconsulting business environment.</li><li>Experiencein the area of upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas processesincluding refining is a plus.</li><li>Demonstratedtechnical competence in the field of process safety.</li><li>Expertin using the PSPPM software</li><li>Preferredskills:</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills</li><li>Ability to lead and influence teams.</li><li>Interface at various levels in an organization, and externallywith clients within the industry.</li><li>Proficient in understanding of OSHA requirements for ProcessSafety Management</li><li>Sound Knowledge with Hands on experience is required in thefollowing areas:</li><li>Understanding of technical scope of work and project schedule</li><li>Pressure relief systems data collection and analysis in PSPPM</li><li>Relief device types and differences</li><li>Pressure relief device (PRD) sizing in PSPPM, including PRDpiping hydraulic analysis</li><li>API 520/API 521/API 526/API 2000/ASME Codes</li><li>Major Siemens clients’ specific guidelines (minimum two clients)</li><li>Relief system methodology</li><li>Scenario identification of major refinery/chemical process units</li><li>Relief rate calculations of major refinery/chemical processunits</li><li>Vapor/Liquid disposal system analysis</li><li>Generating discussion list</li><li>Flare Analysis and report</li><li>Dispersion modeling</li><li>Process simulations</li><li>Risk Mitigation</li><li>Conduct scenario review meeting</li><li>Conduct close out/discussion list meeting</li><li> Ability to mentor/teach others and do so regularly</li><li>Ability to review work and provide feedback on a regular basis,both formally and informally</li><li>Present case study internally or externally</li><li>Self motivating/proactive approach to completing work, personneltraining and development</li><li>Problem solving, including resolving project bottlenecks (withProject Manager) and out of the box thinking</li><li>Advanced time management and scheduling skills, working to helpand guide less experienced engineers in these areas (predicting project task hours etc.)</li><li>Liaise with project management to identify scope changes andproject bottlenecks which may impact schedule and budget</li><li>Good team work and communication skills</li><li>Report preparation with good use of language and structureOngoing development as LE:</li><li>Flare quantitative risk analysis (QRA) concept and application</li><li>Alternate flare line-ups troubleshooting</li><li>Conduct training classes (internally or externally)</li><li>Prepare other team members and contribute to HAZOP, PHA and SILstudies</li><li>Conduct and Lead P&ID development for design project SLF(Siemens Leadership Framework) profile for a Lead Engineer<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>About The Team<br><br></strong>Weare a highly motivated team that takes pride in its work and is known fordelivery results.
