Job Description
Purpose<p><br></p>The Project Procurement Specialist (PPS) is assigned full time to the Ras Laffan Petrochemical Project (RLPP) under the Project Procurement Team. Project includes the engineering/design, construction, and commissioning of a petrochemicals complex in Qatar to produce ethylene and high-density polyethylene (HDPE).<p><br></p>The PPS is mainly responsible for the sourcing and procurement of Owners Cost equipment and services, from receipt of purchase requisition through bidding, negotiation, order placement, expediting, delivery, and purchase close-out. PPS may also be assigned to oversee certain aspects of the procurement, subcontracting and logistics activities for the Project’s Engineering Procurement and Construction Contractor (EPCs).<p><br></p>The PPS will be working closely with the Project Procurement Leads, Project Managers, Project Engineers, QAQC Team, Project Controls Team, Contracting Team, and other Project stakeholders to coordinate requirements and ensure an efficient and compliant Procurement Process is followed.<p><br></p>The initial job location will be at Company’s Project office in Doha, Qatar, then PPS may transition to the construction site in Ras Laffan, Qatar during plant construction and start-up.<p><br></p>Required Qualifications Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or Supply Chain Management preferred; individuals with 10 years or more of relevant Project Procurement experience in lieu of degree will be considered. 5 years minimum total prior Procurement and Contracting experience required, preferably within the petrochemical industry. Understanding of commercial terms/conditions of purchase orders and contracts, and associated risks. Knowledge of Global and Qatari supply chains, and understanding of market trends as it relates to areas of responsibility. Knowledge of procurement through payables elements of SAP. Microsoft Office Software to include Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
