International SOS has an excellent opportunity for a Project Director – with a medical background/experience, to join the Saudi Arabian Operations team and manage a new start-up project commencing in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
Projected start date – mid September 2023
Rotation – currently 12 weeks on duty followed by 4 weeks off duty (may decrease to 8 weeks on duty followed by 4 weeks off duty – but not guaranteed).
Contract duration – due to Saudi laws, contracts are only permitted for 12 months. However, contracts will be renewed on an annual basis.
Remuneration – a monthly salary is paid in Saudi Riyals.
Accommodation, flights and meals coupled with all the necessary remote site insurances will be provided.
Overall Purpose of the Job
Overall administrative responsibility for the organisation and management of overall site medical solution To be the primary interface between construction contractors, medical providers and secondary care hospital staff. The planning and implementation of emergency response procedures and guidelines The management of site reporting, and provision/review of reports. To conduct quality improvement programs – ongoing To oversee occupational health, first aid and wellness training programs To manage the logistics in all medical evacuations To manage procurement, and maintenance of appropriate stock of medication and disposables. Administration of the health, hygiene and sanitation standards for work and camp sites Develop a first response plan, hospitalisation referral system and Medical Evacuation Response plan for all contractors, sub-contracts and vendor personnel on-site Organise all medically related drills. To ensure compliant with relevant government regulations regarding safe handling of toxic materials and hazardous chemicals etc To consult on health regulations and inspections required by governmental authorities To be part of the contractual management, finance and legal requirements as identified
Criteria to Apply:
Must have a background/experience in medical health care./ medical qualification would benefit Minimum of 5 years in health care with at least 2 years in a managerial position Significant project management experience (clinic or hospital highly desirable) Proven experience in people management and governance including risk & quality Experience in the Middle East a distinct advantage but not mandatory Good English language skills (oral and written) an absolute must.
