<strong>Overview</strong><p><br></p><strong> Position </strong><p><br></p><strong> Project Director </strong><p><br></p><strong> Job Code </strong><p><br></p><strong> Reports to </strong><p><br></p><strong> Executive Director </strong><p><br></p><strong> Direct Reports </strong><p><br></p><strong> Project Managers </strong><p><br></p><strong> Division </strong><p><br></p><strong> Sector </strong><p><br></p><strong> Role Purpose </strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Oversee and direct construction programme during the full life-cycle of the implementation phase. </li><li> Liaise with the design teams to review buildability and development of project schedule, deliverables, and cost estimates. </li><li> Oversee the construction management teams to ensure delivery of established project aims and objectives. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Key Accountabilities &amp; Activities</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Engage with the design teams to provide constructability feedback in respect of feasibility analysis, project design, appraisal and value identification. </li><li> Lead the development of Project Execution Plans, which should be leveraged to draw up effective contracts to communicate project requirements to the implementation teams. </li><li> Oversee the assembly of project teams and professional consultants and manage their input through the construction process. </li><li> Report construction status (schedule, cost, and quality) to project delivery, and ensure the continuing development of schedule master plans through the detailing of periodic work-plans and progress trackers. </li><li> Drive best value decision-making to ensure construction moves forward, minimising delays and setbacks in the drive to attain Project KPI’s. </li><li> Post Completion, effective handover to asset owner/manager. </li><li> Lead team retrospective programme to ensure “lessons learned” are leveraged from project insights, to facilitate rapid improvement in the on-going construction programme and ensure that structured feedback is provided on delivery team performance. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Background, Skills &amp; Qualifications</strong><p><br></p><strong> Knowledge, Skills and Experience </strong><p><br></p><strong>Role Specific Requirements</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Over 20 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years senior executive experience earned with major construction companies. </li><li> Over 10 years of construction experience gained in the Gulf Region. </li><li> Demonstrated track record of the delivery of complex and high-value construction projects. </li><li> Extensive knowledge of all facets of construction implementation. </li><li> Proven construction feasibility and project planning experience. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>General Requirements</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Demonstrated commercial acumen through business experience (either through ownership or major P&amp;L ownership as an executive). </li><li> Financial management experience. </li><li> General knowledge of business processes. </li><li> Ability and willingness to travel when necessary. </li><li> Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal </li><li> Ability to negotiate and defuse conflict. </li><li> Demonstrated commercial acumen through business experience (either through ownership or major P&amp;L ownership as an executive). </li><li> Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. </li><li> Proven innovator. </li><li> Experience leading and managing high performing individuals and teams. </li><li> Ability to be a team player that motivates and educates other team members and comprehends complex, technical subjects. </li><li> Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Qualifications</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent qualification. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong> MAIN CONTACTS </strong><p><br></p><strong> Internal </strong><p><br></p><strong> External </strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Executive Director </li><li> Technical Support Director </li><li> Planning Interfaces Director </li><li> Business and Program Director </li><li> Advisors, Partners, Investors, Service providers, Vendors, Contractors </li></ul><p><br></p><strong> VERSION TRACKING </strong><p><br></p><strong> Version </strong><p><br></p><strong> Prepared by (Department Head) </strong><p><br></p><strong> Reviewed by (Human Resources)</strong>
