We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Procurement/Purchase Officer to join our dynamic team at a reputable restaurant in Dubai. The Procurement/Purchase Officer will be responsible for efficiently managing the procurement process to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services required for restaurant operations. The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for detail, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.<p><br></p><strong><u>Responsibilities</u></strong><p><br></p>Procurement Management:<p><br></p><ul><li>Identify the restaurant’s procurement needs for ingredients, kitchen supplies, equipment, furniture, and other items essential for restaurant operations.</li><li>Source, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers/vendors who can provide high-quality products at competitive prices.</li><li>Regularly review and update the list of approved suppliers to maintain a diverse and cost-effective supply chain.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Purchase Order Processing</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Receive and review purchase requisitions from different departments within the restaurant.</li><li>Prepare purchase orders accurately, ensuring compliance with the restaurant’s procurement policies and budgetary guidelines.</li><li>Collaborate with the finance department to ensure proper allocation of funds for procurement activities.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Supplier Negotiation</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Negotiate favorable terms, prices, and contracts with suppliers to obtain the best value for the restaurant.</li><li>Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster a positive and productive partnership.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Inventory Management</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock, while considering storage constraints and shelf life of perishable items.</li><li>Implement inventory control measures to minimize wastage and pilferage.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Quality Control</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Ensure that all procured items meet the restaurant’s quality standards and comply with relevant regulations.</li><li>Conduct periodic quality checks and audits of suppliers to assess their performance.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Logistics And Delivery</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Coordinate with suppliers to arrange the timely delivery of goods to the restaurant’s premises.</li><li>Address any delivery discrepancies and resolve issues related to damaged or incorrect shipments.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Cost Optimization</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Analyze procurement trends and expenses to identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality.</li><li>Implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining the highest standards of quality.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Compliance And Documentation</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Ensure all procurement activities adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement transactions and contracts.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Requirements</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.</li><li>Proven experience as a Procurement/Purchase Officer in the food and beverage industry or a restaurant setting.</li><li>Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and inventory control.</li><li>Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Knowledge of local and international procurement laws and regulations.</li><li>Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.</li><li>Attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality results.</li><li>Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.</li></ul>
