Contract Negotiation: Negotiating contracts with suppliers to obtain favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules. Ensuring that contracts are in compliance with legal and company requirements.
Procurement Process Management: Overseeing the procurement process, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and contracts. Ensuring that procurement activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, and maintaining accurate records of all procurement transactions.
Supplier Relationship Management: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and reliable delivery of goods and services. Resolving any issues or disputes that may arise with suppliers, and monitoring supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Cost Management: Analyzing and optimizing procurement costs, including price negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, and value analysis. Monitoring market trends and conducting research to identify cost-effective procurement solutions.
Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks associated with procurement activities, including supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and regulatory compliance. Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts on procurement operations.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, quality, and finance, to ensure that procurement activities support the overall strategic goals of the organization. Participating in cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed.
Continuous Improvement: Identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities within the procurement function to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs. Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices in procurement, and applying them to improve procurement processes and performance.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to obtain favorable terms and conditions in contracts.
Knowledge of procurement processes, including strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to procurement.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities.
Proficient in using procurement software and tools for procurement process management and data analysis.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail.
Professional certifications in procurement, supply chain management, or related fields are a plus.
