Power Block Field Operator
Job Description
<p>We are looking for Power Block Field Operator to join our team in Madinat Zayed (Western Region). The aplicant must have at <span>least three years experience in the operation of a large power generation plant or continuous process plants. </span></p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Job purpose</u></strong></p><p><strong>路 </strong> Field Operator is responsible for performing all tasks assigned safely and responsibly following the established operating procedures and written and oral instructions from Control Room Operator.</p><p>路 Carry out all on-site Operations routine works and first-level Maintenance tasks.</p><p>路 Oversee that activities performed in the plant are executed according to SHAMS HSSE policies.</p><p>Identify anomalies and performance degradation in Plant equipment and take immediate corrective action as per Shift Charge Engineer鈥檚 instructions.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Main Activities</u></strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>A) Plant Field Operations</strong></p><p>路 Works outdoors in the plant and is in constant communication with the Control Room Operator directly and/or by radio in field operations such as making manual adjustments to valves and equipment.</p><p>路 Take appropriate actions in the field, per the Control Room Operator in case of emergency, for safe isolation and safe shut down of the plant.</p><p>路 Ensure standby equipment is readily available for service in an emergency.</p><p>路 Prepare weekly chemicals stock/consumption reports and inform Shift Charge Engineer for requesting stores stock items/chemicals necessary for operating the plant.</p><p>路 Inform Shift Charge Engineer in case of near-miss, accident, incident, or unsafe situation witnessed.</p><p>路 Prepares equipment malfunction reports, makes inspections and from observation, determines whether the equipment is operating properly.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>B) Housekeeping & Waste Management </strong></p><p>路 Perform general housekeeping of the assigned area.</p><p>路 Segregate hazardous and non-hazardous wastes separately, and dispose-off / move to the designated waste area.</p><p>路 Perform housekeeping during and after every HTF or chemical filling/transfer, using appropriate and compatible materials to serve the purpose.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>C) LOTO Application</strong></p><p>路 Power Block Operator is responsible for the implementation of LOTO, as per the following steps:</p><p>Step 1: Detailed procedures for equipment.</p><p>Step 2: Notify affected employees.</p><p>Step 3: Shut down equipment properly.</p><p>Step 4: Disconnect all primary energy sources.</p><p>Step 5: Address all secondary sources.</p><p>Step 6: Verify the lockout.</p><p>Step 7: Confirm zero energy</p><p><br></p><p><strong>D) Surveillance and Reporting </strong></p><p>路 Responsible for monitoring and checking the operating condition of the plant equipment and the record process parameter available in the local area and reporting to take corrective action in case of any abnormality.</p><p>路 Records routine parameter readings regularly and report deviations. Maintains detailed operation logs for all operation activities</p><p>路 Monitor power plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems.</p><p>路 Perform Plant shift rounds to ensure that all machineries are in sound operating conditions, identify anomalies and/or performance degradation in Plant equipment operations and report to and take immediate corrective action as per Shift Charge Engineer鈥檚 instructions.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Required Qualifications</u></strong></p><p>路 High School Technical Diploma in Power (preferably) or equivalent.</p><p>路 Certification as per UAE regulations requirement (when applicable) and driving license is required.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Experience</u></strong></p><p>路 At least three years experience in the operation of a large power generation plant or continuous process plants.</p><p>路 Hands-on experience in the operation of Steam Turbine, High-Pressure Boiler.</p><p>路 Hands-on experience in the operations of HV, MV & LV Electrical Systems.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Skills</u></strong></p><p>路 Highly proactive and self-motivated. </p><p>路 Team player and good interpersonal skills.</p><p>路 Proficient with PC software鈥檚, able to write technical reports.</p><p>路 Understanding of Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics.</p><p>路 Good understanding of process safety and general safety.</p><p>路 Good command of oral and written English, Arabic is an advantage.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Required Competencies</u></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Core</strong>: HSE Compliant, Team Oriented, Respectful, Professional Work Ethics, Communication</li><li><strong>Technical: </strong>Risk Awareness, Basic Environmental Knowledge, HAZWOPER, LOTO, PTW, Emergency Response Management, Chemical Handling, Isolation Knowledge, Report Writing</li></ul>
