Research in these sectors is enhanced by our research platforms of Robotics, AI and Data Science, Information and Communication Technologies, and Advanced Materials and Manufacturing as well as Fundamental Sciences.<br><br><br>Position Overview<br><br>KU is seeking a highly motivated Post-doctoral Fellow to work on a funded project to investigate the development of new photoactive organometallic complexes for photocatalytic organic conversions.<br>The project will specifically focus on synthesis of organometallic complexes and their structure-photophysical and photochemical properties in the first stage. The optimal complexes will be next investigated in photocatalytic organic conversions to develop new synthetic methodologies.<br>As part of the project, the researcher will have access to state-of-the-art research equipment and facilities at the KU Center of Advanced Materials Chemistry Center (AMCC), and will get an opportunity to work alongside researchers and graduate students from various backgrounds as part of a wider team.<br><br>Position Requirements<br>· Conduct research on development of new photoactive organometallic complexes for photocatalytic organic conversions.<br>· Synthesis and characterization of organometallic complexes<br>· Working knowledge with Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), mass spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and X-ray diffraction (XRD)<br>· Working knowledge in UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy<br>· Familiar with the electrochemical techniques such as cyclic voltammetry, electrolysis and ionic conductivity<br>· Contribute to writing grants, drafting patents and attending conferences<br>· Train new lab personnel on lab methods, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures<br>· Performing analyses in collaboration with senior scientists locally and internationally<br>· Adhere to the University’s information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly<br>· Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager
