Research in these sectors is enhanced by our research platforms of Robotics, AI and Data Science, Information and Communication Technologies, and Advanced Materials and Manufacturing as well as Fundamental Sciences.<br><br><br>Position Overview<br>KU is seeking a highly motivated Post-doctoral Fellow to work on low-temperature geochemistry and geochronology of Proterozoic sedimentary successions and coevolved volcanic materials. The main objective of the project will be to shed new light of the timing and tempo of the coevolution of life and environmental conditions as well as the emplacement of the first economical valuable petroleum systems during the Proterozoic Eon.<br>As part of the project, the researcher will have access to state-of-the-art research equipment and facilities available at Khalifa University and will get an opportunity to work alongside researchers and graduate students from various backgrounds as part of a wider international research network.<br>Position Requirements<br>· Carry out paleoenvironmental reconstructions of selected Proterozoic sedimentary successions<br>· Refining depositional age of relevant Proterozoic sedimentary successions<br>· Understanding the evolution of biological productivity during deposition of these Proterozoic sedimentary successions<br>· Petroleum assessment of these selected Proterozoic sedimentary successions<br>· Working knowledge with analytical tools commonly used in sedimentary petrology (e.g., multiscale petrography, XRD, XRF, Raman spectroscopy and possibly FTIR spectroscopy)<br>· Familiar with geochemical and/or geochronological analytical tools and/or data interpretations<br>· Adhere to the University’s information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly<br>· Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager
