Research in these sectors is enhanced by our research platforms of Robotics, AI and Data Science, Information and Communication Technologies, and Advanced Materials and Manufacturing as well as Fundamental Sciences.<br><br><br>Position Overview<br>KU is seeking a highly motivated Post-doctoral Fellow to work on a funded project to investigate the development of new asymmetric methodologies for the quest of new heterocycles.. The project will specifically focus on the combination of organocatalysis and metalcatalysis for the design of new reactivities merging the best of those two worlds.<br>As part of the project, the researcher will have access to state-of-the-art research equipment and facilities at the KU Center for Catalysis (https://www.riosresearchgroup.com) and will get an opportunity to work alongside researchers and graduate s..<br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>DELETE IF NOT RELEVANT<br>As part of the project, the researcher will have access to state-of-the-art research equipment and facilities at the CENTER NAME (URL) and will get an opportunity to work alongside researchers and graduate students from various backgrounds as part of a wider team.<br>Position Requirements<br>· Conduct research on the development of new asymmetric methodologies by synergistic catalysis,<br>· Design and analyze New reactions for the synthesis of heterocycles<br>· Working knowledge with asymmetric catalysis, NMR 1D, 2D, and experience on HPLC or GC.<br>· Familiar with the optical techniques like UV<br>· Develop desk, field, and/or lab-based studies to explore issues and address challenges related to catalysis bases in synergy between organo and metal chemistry.<br>· Contribute to writing grants, drafting patents and attending conferences<br>· Train new lab personnel on lab methods, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures · Drafting project specific SOPs and risk-assessments for laboratory equipment and chemicals<br>· Performing analyses in collaboration with senior scientists locally and internationally<br>· Adhere to the University’s information security and confidentiality policies and procedures.
