Position Overview<br>The objective of this project is to design an ultra-high-voltage pulse-power supply system with fast rise-time and base on semiconductor devices. This is an industry-funded project and a working prototype is required. The candidate will work with a team of leading academic and industrial experts in this area. He/she is expected to have a leading role in the above research project. He will be mainly responsible for the literature review, modelling, design, validation through simulation, planning and purchase of components for the prototype, prototype testing/validation, presentations at meetings/international conferences, write technical reports and high quality journal publications/patents. He will lead the team of research assistant and PhD researchers.<br><br><br>Position Requirements<br>β’ Experience in closed loop control of high frequency high voltage switched power electronic circuits, mathematical modelling, analysis, simulation and experimental verification.<br>β’ Experience with computational/simulation tools relevant to high frequency high voltage switched power electronic circuits.<br>β’ Hands on experience in design, fabrication and testing of hardware circuit for high frequency high voltage switched power electronic circuits.<br>β’ Experience in printed circuit board βdesign, assembly and testing, operation of digital storage scopes, network analyzers, power quality analyzers and data acquisition equipment.<br>β’ Sound knowledge of HV engineering, safety precautions, insulation and grounding requirements, knowledge and standard regulations related to EMI genrated by HV and EHV power sources.<br>β’ Experience in programming digital controllers, interfacing with the power circuit and testing.
