The Genetic Heritage Group at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Associate (a recent PhD graduate, who completed the PhD in the last two years) in Biology, Microbiology, or related field with solid experience in genomics and metagenomics data analysis.<br><br>The successful candidate will work on 1-2 large-scale multi’omics studies on a large cohort of human and non-human samples consisting of diverse high-throughput datasets to study the associations between the microbiome, adaptations, and diseases. The research will be conducted in a highly collaborative environment with an international team of researchers in Nepal, UAE and USA.<br><br>The candidate will be expected to work independently to drive these projects forward by collaborating with an international team of researchers. Primary responsibilities will include generating and integrating multi’omics datasets with additional phenotypic datasets following standard quality control procedures. This position requires demonstrated background in microbiome data analysis via published papers. The successful candidate should be familiar with standard statistical methods, metagenomics pipelines, data management, laboratory operations, and workflow development.<br><br>The candidate must have a good publication record, fluency in statistical programming languages such as R or Python, experience working with metagenomics data in a high performance computing environment, and must be able to use existing protocols while also being open to implementing new approaches for multi’omics data analysis. Excellent written and oral presentation skills is a must. Wet-lab research expertise is preferred. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary setting with PhD-level scientists, graduate and undergraduate students from NYUAD as well as foreign institutions. The appointment will be for two years and potentially renewable.<br><br>The terms of employment are very competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children.
