<u><strong>JOB PURPOSE:</strong></u><p><br></p>Maximizes value from Upstream investment Portfolio and provides high-impact support across Upstream investment decision space, right from strategy setting to value realization to sustainable growth &amp; ESG. Partners with group strategic investment division and other business stakeholders to analyse &amp; integrate new opportunities into the company’s business plans. Performs directorate level portfolio analysis of oil &amp; gas concessions, Capital Projects, Mergers &amp; Acquisitions, Farm in Farm Outs, and other corporate transactions. Manages investment prioritization as part of the short- and medium-term planning activities in the company’s business plans. Prepares complex Investment proposals &amp; economic models. Supports Investment Committee submissions for all major Upstream Business development Opportunities to ensure clear and well-informed investment recommendations. Builds strong relationship with other Directorates, Group Companies, International shareholders, and other external stakeholders.<p><br></p><strong><u>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<br><br></u>Job Specific Accountabilities<br><br>Investment strategy<br></strong><ul><li> Develops assessment and management tools and key performance indicators that will enable portfolio ranking and facilitate high grading.</li><li> Creation of multiple scenario and sensitivity analyses, taking into account the macroeconomic volatility, asset planning underlying conditions and other key performance drivers</li><li> Directs and supervises the coordination with other relevant departments recommend actions and strategic directions aiming at enhancing Companies asset portfolio performance and, ultimately, value to the Shareholders</li><li> Work closely with Development Business Unit and business organizations to assess portfolio project priorities by providing standard evaluation metrics.</li><li> Monitoring of market intelligence reports related to Companies asset portfolio to develop strategies for maximizing value for stakeholders.</li><li> Identify &amp; analyse project acceleration &amp; deferment opportunities to improve capital efficiency &amp; prepare the long-term investment forecast of Upstream.</li><li> Manages Upstream annual Major Projects Review Exercise regularly to enable better capital planning for the Group</li><li> Support and assistance to other relevant departments in implementing investment, divestment or other asset portfolio optimisation action aiming at enhancing asset portfolio.</li><li> Appraises new business development opportunities within Upstream and prepare business cases for approval to Investment Program Committee</li><li> Assists in development and review of economic evaluation for Upstream Financial Planning &amp; Capital planning exercise to maintain competitive positioning</li><li> Specifies economic criteria and relevant operating parameters for development of new oil and gas projects.</li><li> Participates in project technical reviews and reviews proposals for new or changed operating procedures to ensure efficient and economic operations.</li><li> Leads the process of building and updating guidelines for upstream economics evaluation.</li><li> Develop less-senior staff through designing, implementing and overseeing professional development programs.<br><br></li></ul><u><strong>IPC/IC Governance<br></strong></u><ul><li> Prepare Upstream business cases for approvals from Investment Program committee, Investment committee &amp; ELT for all capital projects &amp; concessions.</li><li> Advises and supports in the Investment Program Committee and the management of the Investment issues with the ISHs</li><li> Deep Dive of Group Company investment proposals and HQ opportunities, challenging the robustness of their business cases, financial models, assumptions, etc</li><li> Lead in ‘Dry runs of IPC submissions, advise Group Companies on the investment origination steps required to successfully achieve and complete stage-gated submissions to the IPC and IC</li><li> Implements a post-project appraisal process to ensure maximum learning for past investment activities.</li><li> Ensures efficient interface with Upstream Functions and coordinates with other Directorates, Group Companies and Service Companies with regard to project evaluation, risk and ranking</li><li> Custodian of the investment management financial models for the Business Line Directorate</li><li> Provide guidance for the management of efficient investment process within Upstream HQ &amp; Group Companies</li><li> Participate and provide support on matters related to review and endorsement of the committees’ recommendations and deliverables.<br><br></li></ul><strong><u>Generic Accountabilities<br><br></u>Supervision<br></strong><ul><li> Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.</li><li> Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Budgets<br></strong><ul><li> Provide input for preparation of the Function/Division/Department/Section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver objectives.</li><li> Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.<br><br></li></ul><u><strong>Policies, Systems, Processes &amp; Procedures:<br></strong></u><ul><li> Implement approved Function/Division/Department/Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Performance Management<br></strong><ul><li> Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Function/Division/Department/ Section in line with the Company Performance framework.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Innovation and Continuous Improvement<br></strong><ul><li> Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.</li><li> Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability<br></strong><ul><li> Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Reports<br></strong><ul><li> Provide inputs to prepare Function/Division/Department/Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.<br><br></li></ul><u><strong>COMMUNICATIONS &amp; WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:<br><br></strong></u><strong>Internal<br></strong><ul><li> Daily contacts within the Functions up to Managerial level for consultations and guidance.</li><li> Frequent contacts up to senior management level with other Functions/Divisions within UPSTREAM other ADNOC Directorates, OPCOs and independent oil companies to obtain information and to coordinate on economic studies development.<br><br></li></ul><strong>External<br></strong><ul><li> Occasional contacts, International Shareholders, Department of Finance, &amp; external agencies.<br><br></li></ul><u><strong>QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE &amp; SKILLS:<br><br></strong></u><strong>Minimum Qualification<br></strong><ul><li> Bachelor’s degree in economics, Accounting or Finance or related Professional qualification. Preferably with CPA, CFA, MBA (Finance) or equivalent<br><br></li></ul><strong>Minimum Experience &amp; Knowledge &amp; Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li> 15 years finance &amp; economic evaluation experience</li><li> Good background of oil and gas industry &amp; its challenges</li><li> Very strong Financial Modelling skills</li><li> Ability to work under minimal supervision</li><li> Very good knowledge of English<br><br></li></ul><strong>19058</strong>
