MPLS Engineer
Job Description
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Engage with customers and other Cisco collaborators on successful planning and execution of validation engagements.</li><li>Support next-generation R&S for Enterprise, and Service Provider customers to accelerate implementation of new platforms/solutions.</li><li>Validate new design solutions to meet customer requirements.</li><li>Develop Network Implementation Plans & Network Migration Plans</li><li>Deploy IP/MPLS services covering the installations, testing, cutover, migration, and handover with no supervision.</li><li>Identify key issues and gaps and work with engineering and delivery teams to resolve them.</li><li>Develop/integrate new technologies into lab environments.</li><li>Innovate to gain efficiency and accelerate validation efforts.</li><li>Identify and facilitate new business growth opportunities.</li><li>Collaborate with other engineers to ensure successful project delivery.</li><li>Expertise in multicast and IPV6 design and configuration is a plus.</li><li>Receives limited supervision. Receives little instruction on routine work and new assignments. Provides guidance and mentoring to other engineers. Translates team goals into work assignments. </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>BE/B.Tech/BSC Computer Science or equivalent 6+ plus years of substantial work experience. </li><li>Knowledge of at least one Customer Vertical / IT industry </li><li>CCNP/CCIP is a must, CCIE certification would be a plus. </li><li>Network automation skills (Python/ Ansible/ GoLang/ Splunk) preferred </li></ul><p><strong>Routing & Switching:</strong> </p><ul><li>Strong Experience in Routing and switching Technologies like OSPF, ISIS, BGP, STP, RSTP, VTP, VSS, vPC, vDC, MSTP, LACP, VLAN </li><li>Knowledge of emerging technologies such as SDWAN is preferred </li></ul><p><strong>Service provider </strong></p><ul><li>Good experience with Cisco Routing products such as 7600, GSR, ISR, ASR9k, CRS, Nexus 7k </li><li>Experience working on Internet Service provider infrastructure </li><li>Experience and in-depth knowledge of Industry standard Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), LDP, MPLS, MPLS L2 VPN, MPLS L3 VPN, EVPN, QoS, Segment Routing)</li><li>Familiarity with features, examples include: MPLS (L2/L3 VPN/VRF-Lite) and MPLS-TE, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, EIGRP, inter-as, QoS, Ipv6, IP SLAs, RPVST+, MST, PIM, DMVPN, GETVPN, NetFlow, PfR</li><li>Attentive to detail</li><li>Self-motivated and result-oriented approach to work</li><li>Strong organizational skills</li><li>Ability to multi-task and deliver against competing priorities</li><li>Ability to strive in a fast-paced and demanding environment</li></ul>
