Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
The aim is to :
• Drive the Metro Trains safely and reliably as per timetable or as per instructions received from the CCP and Drivers Supervisor & Drivers Manager.
• Drive the train insuring service delivery to customers (Punctuality, Comfort, Information).
• Ensure that the delivery of safe service is achieved under normal and degraded operating conditions.
• Implement the operational procedures as stated in the Standard Operating Procedure for emergency situations.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Principals accountabilities:
• To participate in the safe operation of the Metro line 3.
• To apply the appropriate operational standards and rules/regulations in Metro Line 3.
• To participate in the service delivery performance targets and expectations set for Metro line 3.
• To participate in the investigations of operating incidents.
Specific Responsibilities:
• To operate trains at grade and undergrand.
• To perform train preparations and safety checks as per rules and procedures.
• To stable trains when and where required.
• To drive trains according to schedules and signaling in the depot and on the mainline.
• To drive sweeper trains when required and report any unsafe conditions immediately to CCP
• To ensure that the passengers safely embark and disembark on platforms (Boarding, alighting from).
• To know and apply safety procedures and rules.
• To communicate in real time with CCP, Drivers Supervisors, and Passengers.
• To perform first-line maintenance in case of train failure using the procedure booklet.
• To act in degraded situations (i.e.: delay, evacuation, cranking of points …) according to the CCP instruction.
• To take trains through the Wash Plant and perform any shunt movements when required within the Depot.
• Any other duties as assigned by your Drivers Supervisors.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
• Technical Diploma / 04 Years Engineering degrees in any discipline (Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics).
Knowledge:
• English language (Good) and local language.
• Full involvement in the safety issues (personnel & equipment).
• Having strong oral and written communication skills.
Required:
• Valid driving license.
• A medical test will be organized in order to access the capability of the candidate for the job.
• Special psychometric tests to access candidate capabilities.
• Qualified for driving trains.
• Qualified for track access.
Experience:
• Minimum one year working experience in operation in any industry, supervisory level and have handled a team and/or extensive proven gained in a railway operation or similar environment.
• Minimum aged 21 years.
