The Ash Sharqiyah Operations & Maintenance Company (ASHOMCo) manages the three Cogen Power Plants inside the Saudi Aramco facilities – Abqaiq (ABQ), Hawiyah (HGP) and Ras Tanura (RTR) Refineries and will provide them with Electrical energy and Steam for their process.

The RTR & ABQ Plants will produce 360 MWs and 603 T/Hr of steam, and the HGP Plant 160MWs and 272 T/Hr of Steam.

The plants are owned by Power Cogeneration Plant Company (PCPC), based in Al Khobar in which Saudi Aramco has 50% equity, Marubeni has 25%, JGC has 15% and the Al Jomiah Co has 10%.

We are looking to hire an experienced, competent power plant Mechanical Technician and the details of Job provided as below.

Job Purpose

The Mechanical Technicians report directly to the Maintenance Team Leader at the Power Plant. The Mechanical Technician will fulfil the day-to-day Mechanical maintenance activities at their power plant. Additionally, the Mechanical Technician is responsible to support the major outages of the plant, ensuring that the plant meets availability, reliability, efficiency, generation, and cost targets, safely and within strict environmental limits.

Requirements 

Power plant engineering concepts.

Good mechanical engineering foundation and practical knowledge of how it applies to modern power plant technologies.

Application of specialist skills such as fitting, fabrication, welding, vibration analysis, NDT etc.

Application of specialist skills related to the usage of workshop machinery required for a Power Plant.

Knowledge of contractual obligations and the need to support Operations Department in achieving availability, output, and efficiency targets.

Strong understanding of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment management systems and safety rules.

Support the management of the long-term gas turbine service contract with respect to planned and unplanned outage services of gas turbines.

Adhere to routine plant maintenance plans using CMMS.

Support successful preparations and completion of planned shutdowns. 

Implement mechanical engineering best practices in accordance with OEM and international standards.

Support the implementation of a Long-Term engineering strategic plan.

Recognize faults and their causes and propose solutions.

Undertake advanced condition monitoring techniques in fields such as: thermography, vibration analysis, oil analysis, etc.

 

Academic Qualification

An accredited degree/Diploma in Mechanical

Demonstrated competence at Diploma/engineering level with adequate education and training supported.

 Work Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in power plant as a Mechanical technician or supervisor or foreman.

GE Frame 7E and 7F Gas Turbines (or 50hz equivalent) experience would be an added advantage. 

Must have hands on experience of Alignment of Pumps, motors, and other rotating equipmentโ€™s.

Must have hands on experience of Hot Gas Path Inspection and Major Overhauling.

Working experience on Lathe machine and welding expertise will be added advantage.

Must be aware of basic HVAC troubleshooting.
