<strong>About The Job</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Manage all slaughter, fabrication, and processing of meat animal products </li><li>Manage the Food Safety Program </li><li>Work with local authorities to maintain the license and stay up to date on all regulation changes.</li><li>Responsible for the execution of daily production including plant cleanliness and sanitation, equipment operations and maintenance/repair, and plant maintenance and repair</li><li>Schedule customers with processing and fabrication activities.</li><li>Supervise the hiring and training of meat processing employees</li><li>Assist with the teaching of laboratory courses in slaughter, fabrication, slaughter, and meat evaluation </li><li>Manage the formulation and production of all meat products</li><li>Administer financial operations including budgeting, purchases, and income</li><li>Performs other reasonable or related duties as directed.<br></li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Position Specifications</strong><p><br></p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong><p><br></p>Associates Degree preferred<p><br></p>3 years working in the meat processing industry is preferred.<p><br></p>Equivalent combinations of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may be considered on a case-by-case basis.<p><br></p>Large animal agriculture experience<p><br></p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Ability to quickly identify issues and constructively work to develop effective solutions.</li><li>Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to teach and assess learning in meat processing.</li><li>Ability to apply financial skills in an instructional setting such as solving financial problems, applying relevant math, analyzing financial statements.</li><li>Ability to apply basic manual/maintenance skills such as assembling/disassembling, following safety procedures and rules, lifting heavy equipment, loading and unloading, maintaining equipment, monitoring operations, cutting, operating equipment, working outdoors or indoors.<br></li></ul>
