<strong><u>Job Description</u></strong><p><br></p>About the Company<p><br></p>Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country’s crude oil production and natural gas supply.<p><br></p>Purpose of the Job<p><br></p>Provide specialist technical expertise and support to Projects and Operation on materials, corrosion engineering, corrosion control, corrosion monitoring and corrosion mitigation.<p><br></p>Education & Experience<p><br></p><ul><li> A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy Engineering /Corrosion Science/Engineering. Other related Engineering disciplines has to be supported by sound experience.</li><li> Minimum 8 years of experience in corrosion control and corrosion management in the oil and gas industry, responsibilities include corrosion mitigation/inhibition.</li><li> Meet minimum requirement of Technical Authority of TA2 in corrosion control</li><li> Experience on Sour Facilities and Steam Facilities is desirable</li><li> Comprehensive technical engineering skills of inspection and maintenance and integrity management systems specially and materials/ corrosion engineering generally.</li><li> Demonstrated analytical and report writing abilities with knowledge of pressure vessels, tanks, and equipment codes.</li><li> Proficient in HSE management principles and its application</li><li> Very good interpersonal and communication skills.</li></ul><p><br></p>Main Responsibilities<p><br></p><ul><li> Responsible for PPC set up /review for development engineers and direct reporting staff.</li><li> Set up development plan to young Omani development engineers and provide coaching on MCI discipline activities.</li><li> Provide corrosion and materials expertise to support Projects and Operation regarding internal and external corrosion.</li><li> Delivery of business plan for one asset.</li><li> Manage all related internal and external corrosion monitoring and mitigation activities, including corrosion inhibitors, cathodic protection CP and coating for surface and sunsurface facilities including pipelines and well casing.</li><li> Provide expert recommendations and design, construct, operate and maintain internal and external corrosion control systems.</li><li> Carry out quality control on matters pertaining to internal and external pipeline corrosion, surface facilities and well casing.</li><li> Carry out material failure investigation and root cause analysis as part of pipeline and well casing system failure investigation.
