Job Description
This position is responsible for protecting the integrity of the North American Derivatives Exchange Inc., d/b/a Crypto.com | Derivatives North America, (“Nadex”) and enforcing the rules and regulations of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (“CFTC”) and Nadex. The role will include daily market surveillance of Nadex and overall monitoring to detect market activity that could adversely affect Exchange contracts or violate rules or regulations of the CFTC or Nadex. Additionally, this position will be responsible for analyzing various market surveillance reports, compliance inquiries and requests, and other compliance related functions.<p><br></p><strong>Job Responsibilities: </strong><p><br></p><ul><li>The compliance officer will play a pivotal role in implementing all aspects of Nadex’s self-regulatory program with respect to: Trade Practice Surveillance, Market Surveillance, Real-time Market Monitoring;</li><li>Help manage Enforcement and Disciplinary Proceedings.</li><li>Help manage audits, examinations, and other regulatory responsibilities with respect to Members and Market Participants;</li><li>Help conduct investigations into manipulative trading activity for FX and Crypto- based transactions, and other relevant trade practice violations. Communicate surveillance analysis and findings to department management and to other members of the department;</li><li>Conduct compliance ad-hoc monitoring for potential rule violations or concerning activities related to trading activity, money-laundering and fraud, and other Nadex rule violations;</li><li>Assist the Chief Regulatory Officer and Manager of Market Regulation in audit and regulatory requests from the CFTC and Internal Audit;</li><li>Assist in monitoring and responding to customer and internal questions for Compliance and Market Regulation;</li><li>Engage in positive working relationships with Market Makers on the Exchange in an effort to foster open communication.</li></ul><strong>Job Requirements:</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business or equivalent work experience;</li><li>Minimum 1-2 years in market regulation or surveillance for a Regulatory Agency, an Exchange, or equivalent experience;</li><li>Working knowledge of CFTC Regulations for Designated Contract Markets (DCMs), including knowledge of prohibited forms of market abuse is helpful;</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills;</li><li>Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet objectives of multiple or competing priorities/projects; shift focus quickly relative to changing priorities;</li><li>Ability to convey ideas or concepts clearly in written form; tailor tone or style of writing in relation to needs of different audiences; evaluate documents and proofread/edit for structure, clarity, syntax, grammar, spelling and punctuation;</li><li>Evaluate, analyze, and summarize data and facts; establish logical connections, form sound conclusions based on analysis;</li><li>Organize and express ideas clearly and understandably when speaking to individuals or the group;</li><li>Previous experience or knowledge associated with the crypto currency industry is helpful;</li><li>MS Word, MS Excel and knowledge of various third-party Market Regulation software systems is helpful.</li></ul>
