Job description

Developing design, including analysis of engineering data using computer software and/or procedures and standards, design concepts, coordination, design documentation

Contributing into the development of design package including design technical report, drawings, calculation notes and specifications.

Reviewing project standards and documents to assure the submitted drawings and documents are compatible and aligned with the overall project objectives

Reviewing design build documents, drawings, calculations operating manuals and design books to ensure that it is in accordance with the client specifications

Reviewing contractor’s submittals such as material, construction methodologies, subcontractor prequalification documents and others

Supporting project lead in maintaining budget, schedule and adherence to the agreed scope of work

Coordinating with other discipline engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design process

Liaising with the client and subcontractors to ensure the design work is delivered on time and to budget

Profile

University Degree in Geotechnical / Civil Engineering

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Experience in the Middle East in a consultancy environment

Availability to travel within the Middle East as required

Experience in preparation of geotechnical investigation scope for marine works and, interpretation of ground information

Experience in geotechnical-related analysis of marine design works including quaywalls, marine slopes and revetments, foundation design, dredging, reclamation and ground improvement

Sound understanding of relevant geotechnical standards including AAHSTO, Eurocodes and British Standards

Sound Experience with geotechnical design software

Experience with a wide range of Geotechnical Investigation techniques and site investigations including drilling works, in-situ tests, etc.

Experience with the geotechnical assessment of the findings of the drillings and trial pits excavations
* Professional level in using MS Office Suite
