Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the Manager, Business Applications must possess the skills and expertise necessary to support the Information Technology Directorate of the University and fully implementing UDST’s mission and vision.<p><br></p><strong>Duties &amp; Responsibilities: </strong><p><br></p>This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual preferably with relevant experience in University/Education Sector who will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Business Application team. Additionally, responsible for planning and implementing project schedules, manage technical resources, coordinating with all development stakeholders, and to manage a team of software specialist and analysts to meet UDST’s strategic and operational objectives.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will support the development of the IT business plan in alignment with UDST’s strategy; provide technical oversight for the Business Applications team and ensure appropriate design and build of IT solutions.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will Identify and implement IT and project management training and oversee the development of stakeholder IT project vision and scope, in alignment with ITIL and UDST protocols.<p><br></p>The incumbent will oversee Business Application team member’s analysis and diagnosis of IT related issues, and lead the development of solutions, ensuring problem resolutions in a professional manner.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will lead the identification of new technology needs, including new software products or enhancements to existing products; identify and engage appropriate internal resources to resolve technical issues and update clients on progress towards resolution.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will oversee the documentation for IT projects, and ensure timely, efficient and accurate completion of projects. He/she will also oversee software support logs, track performance and identify trends and opportunities, and review recommendations for process improvements.<p><br></p>The incumbent will oversee reports on key software development statistics, including change requests and enhancement trends, and make recommendations to the IT Director, Business Unit Managers and Executive Management.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will lead the development of tools to collect, store, manage, secure and distribute data to employees to make decisions about strategic, financial and operational issues. He/she coordinate with IT Security Specialist and Manager, IT Operations to ensure that corporate data is protected against attacks from viruses, cybercriminals and other threats.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will oversee the training provided on new software or network facilities, and ensure that training is provided in a timely and efficient manner. He/she will also contribute in the development of the IT policies, procedures, processes and guidelines and perform miscellaneous job- related duties as assigned.<p><br></p>Responsibilities also include to provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates based on UDST’s Employee Performance Management framework.<p><br></p><strong>Qualifications</strong><p><br></p><strong>Education and Certifications:</strong><p><br></p>Master’s degree in IT or related field required<p><br></p>Professional certification is preferred<p><br></p><strong>Experience:</strong><p><br></p>Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in IT or related field<p><br></p><ul><li>0- 1 year of managerial experience</li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Language:</strong><p><br></p>Fluency in written and spoken English language is required<p><br></p>Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language is preferred<p><br></p><strong>Other Required Skills:</strong><p><br></p>Innovative and highly motivated leader with a high standard of professional integrity. Demonstrated experience in Business Application processes. Strong knowledge of Functional Requirement Analysis, Education Technologies know-how, Application Development and IT Project Management is required. The candidate should have the ability to anticipate change and effectively manage quality and risk at all times. Analytical thinking, decision making and effective problem-solving is required. Resource management, ability to coach and mentor is desired. Commitment to positive relationship building and effective working relationships across all levels of the organizations is required to be successful in this role.
