Lobby Lounge Assistant Manager

The Lobby Lounge Assistant Manager assists in all aspects of the lobby; in particular, as related to sales, profit and the development of people. They will overseeing all facets of the restaurant . The assistant manager must maintain and control a high level of guest service.  This is achieved by ensuring consistent and thoughtful service, demonstrated by the restaurant staff.  The assistant manager is also responsible for the hiring, training, supervising, and disciplining of the staff.

Job Functions:

  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in the Hotel’s Lounge to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met; daily activities and planning for outlet operation.

  • The ability to be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts.

  • Provide expert knowledge of wine and spirits and ensure quality of all food or beverage items, ingredients, and preparation methods, in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience while following and maintaining all local, state, and federal laws relating to alcohol service and consumption.

  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control.

  • Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.

  • Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment on a daily basis in the outlet and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.

  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.

  • Assist with the service and preparation of beverage and food to guests.
  • Assist in seating of guests.

  • Assist with the cleaning of operational areas.

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • 2 – 3 years previous experience in a supervisory or assistant manager position in Food & Beverage

  • Strong leadership skills and communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Possess a proven track record for guest satisfaction

  • Proficiency in all aspects of bar/lounge service

  • Knowledge of food and beverage as well as accounting and administration tasks
