TITLE: Livelihoods Coordinator. EAMR Project
TEAM/PROGRAMME: Refugees & Migrants Program Operation LOCATION: Based on Nozha Hub.
GRADE: 5 CONTRACT LENGTH: 6 Months with possible extension based on performance and Contingent upon confirmation of funding.
CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people eitherfrequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

In Egypt, Save the Children International has been working to ensure that children’s rights are respected, protected and promoted since 1982. We carry out both long-term development work and, more recently emergency humanitarian work.
This project aims that children and youth in vulnerable situations have their rights respected and possess sound self-reliance capacities that allow them to improve their life perspectives. It will also target national and community organizations to enable them to provide effective protection and self- reliance services for children and youth. The project is targeting children and youth up to 24 years from the refugees, migrants and host communities at Ain Shams and surrounding areas.
ROLE PURPOSE: The Livelihoods Coordinator will be supporting the livelihood/Youth and Adolescent Officer in the implementation of the livelihoods and life skills activities for unaccompanied children and youth refugees, Migrant and host communities living in Ain Shams district and surrounding areas. The post holder will provide technical support and leadership to the life skill & Livelihoods community coaches including assessment, career guidance, and training through remote and office modalities. The position holder will also be responsible for regular monitoring of implementation. S/he will play a key role in leading the life skill & Livelihoods mentors toachieve the project targets with the agreed quality including the full process of selection of beneficiaries, preparing and delivering of the essential skills training, coaching, technical training needed, and also support the wage employment component.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Livelihoods/Youth and Adolescent Officer.
Staff reporting to this post: 4 Volunteers.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Project Implementation:
- Support the livelihood officer in the planning of the life skills and livelihood activities, and lead on the daily
follow-up on the implementation.
- Participate and lead the community coaches in the provision of career guidance
- S/he will deliver and lead the operations of the training that will be held for the livelihood’s participants such as (business – employment – financial literacy- …) through online and/or offline This includes responsibility for training material development as needed
- Lead the outreach activities related to life skills and livelihood activities; Play a key role in the seed fund and
cash distribution process.
- Lead on identifying and conducting the technical training needs for the livelihood’s participants through coaching
and follow-up sessions.
- Coaching a number of participants through all of the component activities if
- Responsible for the capacity building of the community livelihoods
- Lead on the seed fund process and the apprenticeship operations and opportunities
- Ensure that all activities are implemented in line with Save the Children’s policies and procedures and adhere to donor requirements and
- Ensure Child Safeguarding standards are understood and met in liaison with the Child Safeguarding focal
Documentation and reporting
- Ensure information is captured accurately on our data collection
- Ensure that t h e filing system is in place and maintain up-to-date, well-organized, and accurate casefiles and
- Prepare monthly field activities’ and achievements
- Lead the MEAL activities in the component in coordination with the MEAL
Partnerships/Networks
- In coordination with the youth and adolescent/livelihoods officer he/she will lead the relation with the projects’ Community-based organizations and
In case of Emergency:
- Promote children’s rights, contributing to their well-being and protection in times of emergencies, guided by humanitarian principles and a code of
- During emergencies, he/she should act in a way that facilitates SCI’s response to
- emergencies, giving priority to all
- Be prepared to support SCI interventions in response to emergencies and show needed flexibility

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Essential:
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, business, or relevant social science.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in livelihood projects (Understanding livelihoods context in Egypt).
• Experience in training and coaching for a specific group of beneficiaries.
• Ability to deliver training and critically think about the materials’ content and contextualization to the targeted beneficiary.
• Ability to network, follow-up, and advocate with different service providers.
• Ability to speak with participants one on one or to large groups.
• Ability to prepare flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) and good in English is required
• Commitment to SCI values and Child Safeguarding policy.
Desirable:
• Academic or professional degree in development related fields is desirable.
• Familiar with Refugees and Migrants context in Egypt and associated political/cultural sensitivities.
