NEOM’s Legal department is responsible for ensuring that this ambitious mission is delivered, by working with the Kingdom to establish governing law and a regulatory authority, whilst building a Legal &amp; Compliance framework for NEOM corporation and its infrastructure.<p><br></p>We are searching for an experienced attorney to represent NEOM values and protect its interest by providing primary support on procurement and commercial projects. The role requires all manner of contractual expertise as this hire will help to broaden the skills offering of an agile and growing team. Leadership skills, strong technical expertise and expert relationship management will be critical for the successful applicant.<p><br></p><strong>Key Accountabilities &amp; Activities</strong><p><br></p>Business Advisory<p><br></p><ul><li> Build relationships with the business teams and Procurement Department to become a trusted advisor </li><li> Provide relevant expertise and assurance to the Procurement Department on drafting, negotiating and concluding contracts with NEOM’s suppliers </li><li> Respond flexibly to the business’ needs where required to ensure high quality, timely and pragmatic advice </li><li> Support where necessary in improving, streamlining and automating Legal and commercial processes </li><li> Work effectively with outside counsel, serving as a primary internal liaison on procurement and commercial matters </li></ul><p><br></p>Legal Support<p><br></p><ul><li> Support the Legal Services function by taking the lead on various procurement and commercial projects and the related documents, reviews, and discussions </li><li> Engage in drafting and negotiating various types of agreements and ancillary documents </li><li> Advise on genera commercial matters, including tech, intellectual property and disputes matters, as may be required </li><li> Assist and support others within the legal department by providing advice, training and/or guidance </li><li> Liaise with multiple stakeholders to address day-to-day legal issues and resolve them quickly and effectively </li><li> Handle multiple legal workstreams to meet high-pressure deadlines consistently </li><li> Provide other legal services and advice to the company as needed </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Background, Skills &amp; Qualifications</strong><p><br></p><strong> Knowledge, Skills and Experience </strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Extensive proven experience managing procurement and/or commercial matters </li><li> Generalist knowledge of commercial contracts and day-to-day legal department issues </li><li> Excellent drafting and negotiation with strong commercial acumen </li><li> Exceptional written and verbal communication and critical thinking skills </li><li> Ability to influence and collaborate with members of the legal team and business partners </li><li> Ability to adapt and work across different types of agreements and legal issues </li><li> Strong analytical skills, solutions oriented and with a practical approach </li><li> Self-directed with strong initiative, organizational skills, and ability to work well under pressure </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Qualifications</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Relevant technical expertise and law firm or in-house experience </li><li> 6-12+ years PQE </li><li> Superior academic credentials with a law degree from a leading university and/or law school </li><li> Willingness to be based in NEOM community </li><li> Desire to flex into other legal disciplines to provide comprehensive business support welcome </li><li> Saudi national a plus </li><li> GCC practice/ experience is a plus </li><li> Arabic fluency a plus </li></ul><p><br></p><strong> COMMUNICATION – MAIN STAKEHOLDERS </strong><p><br></p><strong> Internal </strong><p><br></p><strong> External </strong><p><br></p>CLO<p><br></p>Legal &amp; Compliance Team<p><br></p>Shared Services: Procurement Department<p><br></p>Multiple business sectors across NEOM’s organization<p><br></p>Outside Counsel Partners<p><br></p>Industry body organizations as appropriate<p><br></p><strong> VERSION TRACKING </strong><p><br></p><strong> Version </strong><p><br></p><strong> Prepared by </strong><p><br></p>Date:<p><br></p><strong> First Review by </strong><p><br></p>Date:<p><br></p><strong> Second Review by </strong><p><br></p>Date:<p><br></p><strong> Evaluation </strong><p><br></p>Date:<p><br></p><strong> Approved by </strong><p><br></p><strong> Name (Title) </strong><p><br></p><strong> Signature </strong><p><br></p><strong> Date</strong>
