<strong><u>Job Description</u></strong><p><br></p>About the Company<p><br></p>Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country’s crude oil production and natural gas supply.<p><br></p>Purpose of the Job<p><br></p>Supervise, as a specialist, the implementation of Company’s overall integrated risk based assurance plan (IRAP) including ‘Conduct Assurance’ work process of Asset Management System (AMS) framework, refining the assurance process design, establishing a visible linkage between risks and assurances (through active engagement with/ support to business process owners/ CFDHs) and ensuring smooth operations & continuous improvement of corporate assurance processes. In addition, support on other governance related processes managed by the GRA team including risk management, control incidents, delegation of business authorities, financial evaluation of bidders, and development of financial control frameworks for projects.<p><br></p>Education & Experience<p><br></p><ul><li> Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, and/or engineering with related certifications/ trainings in audit & assurance, risk management, internal controls, and compliance or equivalant.</li><li> At least 10 years of overall work experience in business assurance, risk and internal controls management.</li><li> Experience of communication with top management</li></ul><p><br></p>Main Responsibilities<p><br></p><ul><li> Undertake gap assessment of assurance practices and risk practices across PDO directorates</li><li> Engage with process owners/ CFDHs and assurance focal points in assets and functions to plan bridging of the identified gaps</li><li> Monitor the development of the gap closure plans (i.e., IRAP development)</li><li> Support in the development of assurance programs where current functional assurance programs are not sufficiently mature</li><li> Develop and update a Central Risk Library and influence its usage by process owners (CFDHs) when developing assurance programs</li><li> Lead the delivery of training & awareness programme for L2/ L3 auditors</li><li> Drive the deployment of an assurance tool to host end to end assurance process</li><li> Post implementation of IRAP – act as custodian of the IRAP governance, ensure smooth operation and continuous improvement via monitoring the effectiveness of progress against annual assurance plans; and influence monitoring of progress by assurance focal points (AFPs)</li><li> Ensure periodic reporting to the directorate leadership teams through AFPs, highlighting critical observations and risks noted in the assurance reports</li><li> Act as a custodian of the tool hosting Assurance process (IRAP and AMS assurance plans)</li><li> Collaborate with risk team and directorate risk focal points to ensure assurance outcomes are considered in the directorate risk assessments and quarterly risk review sessions</li><li> Consolidate and prepare executive reports/ management summaries as required</li><li> Benchmark controls and assurances with best practices such as SOX and IIA guidelines</li><li> Influence risk and assurance culture by leading engagements / forums throughout PDO</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Skills Required</u></strong><p><br></p>Other Job Details
