Job Description
<p>Assists the Housekeeping In- Charge in providing clean and attractive linen and guest laundry by managing the in house laundry function and in liaise with outsourced laundry company in a manner that will result in a professional and productive operation. All work will be in line with departmental and Hotel guidelines and service concepts.</p><p><br></p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Duties and Responsibilities :</strong></p><ul><li> Provides productive operation resulting in professionally cleaned and pressed linen</li><li>and guest laundry by managing the laundry function</li><li>Assists in the production and output of linen being processed through the laundry</li><li>function during peak times or during absence of laundry workers</li><li>Anticipates changes in occupancy and revises strategies to coincide with variances</li><li>Maintains linens according to hotel and corporate standards by monitoring condition of linens and repairing and/or replacing linens as necessary</li><li>Provides written and verbal reports required to the Housekeeping In-Charge to keep him informed on the statues of the clean laundry supply</li><li>Supplies washers with chemicals and has sufficient chemical in stock to meet Variances in demand</li><li>Understands basics and maintenance of laundry equipment</li><li>Writes maintenance reports in regards to replacement or repair of machine parts</li><li>Notifies engineering if further actions need to be taken</li><li>Coordinates linen inventories and recommends purchases</li><li>Inventories, organizes and monitors employee uniforms</li><li>Prepares schedules as requested, and in accordance with forecasted occupancy</li><li>Supervises the daily activities of the laundry workers</li><li>Purchases approved, cost effective chemicals and other operating supplies as required</li><li>Handles the daily inventory keeping of all hotel linen goes out to the outsourced laundry company and receiving it back after wash/ dry clean.</li><li>Is aware of departmental costs; takes action to control labor, amenities and supply costs</li></ul><p><br></p><p> <strong>Skills and Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum Secondary School Certificate.</li><li>Any certification from the hotel industry will be an advantage.</li><li>Minimun two years Laundry experience as a Supervisor</li><li>Good communication skill in English β verbal, listening & written.</li></ul>
