Junior Paralegal

Job Description

<p>We are seeking a <strong>Junior Paralegal</strong> to join our Trade Mark team in the Beirut office.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Experience<strong>:</strong> 2-5 years of experience, preferably in intellectual property or professional services</p><p><br></p><p>Language: Excellent Arabic and English and an ability to translate between the two. French is a plus</p><p><br></p><p>Education:<strong> </strong>A tertiary degree is essential</p><p><br></p><p>Computer skills: Experience and competency with basic programs is essential. Experience with intellectual property databases is an advantage</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Assisting in the management of IP portfolios;</li><li>Preparing translations, correspondence and reports for clients, agents and government authorities;</li><li>Preparing trade mark applications;</li><li>Assisting with IP audits;</li><li>Assisting with obtaining corporate and product information;</li><li>Assisting with conducting legal and market research;</li><li>Preparing cost estimates;</li><li>Drafting legal documents;</li><li>Following up on the progress of trade mark applications;</li><li>Reporting progress of applications to clients;</li><li>Reporting on the upcoming expiry of trade mark registrations and seeking instructions to renew and maintain their validity;</li><li>Ensuring that all progress is updated on the intellectual property management software (IPMS);</li><li>Cross checking client requests with any official documents that have been issued from the trade mark office;</li><li>Updating clients’ on-line system with the progress of their trade marks; and</li><li>Attending to any other tasks of a similar nature that may be assigned from time to time.</li></ul>
