Danone MENA is looking for an experienced Junior Business controller (Gulf) for its Specialized Business in Cairo, Egypt. The selected candidate will support the Head of Gulf and Innovations Controlling on budget controlling, Countries’ P&L management, Distributors communication, and Innovations’ financial performance prior and post-launch.

The candidate  will also carry the following responsibilities:

A- Key Accountabilities:

1. Top Line: 
• Play an active role in the IMS forecast process; challenge inputs and find opportunities
• Maintain the pricing master data for all distributors and update when needed
• Understand the trade terms components and own its budget along with Trade Marketing
• Monitor expiries at the distributors, take necessary accruals and corrective actions in collaboration with D2D
• Support Countries in pricing new products/tenders in line with the cluster standard KPIs

2. Operations: 

• Sales Force cost: properly allocate SF cost by category
• A&P: build budget along with Activation manager and monitor spend by month, categories, and activities.

3. Overall P&L:

• Own, manage, and animate country and category P&Ls discussions and ways of improvement
• Analyse CO and ROS changes every cycle

4. Working Capital:
• Support I2C BS team in expediating collections from distributors for lower overdues
• Support P2P BS team in expediating receipt of DN from distributors for better cash forecasting
• Coordinate between P2P and distributors for quicker release of DN for payment

5. Governance: 
• Sales reports: maintain monthly sales report reporting through distributors data
• Budget release: approve, as per the authorisation matrix, POs and Commitments in relevant systems

6. Internal Control & Compliance:
• Maintain a strong control environment, comply with Internal control requirements and own relevant controls

7. Innovations:
• Prepare, in coordination with Marketing teams, financial business cases for innovations across MENA countries
• Maintain Monthly innovations financial KPIs
• Prepare innovations post launch performance for significant projects

8. Continious Improvement: 
• Maintain a mindset of process improvement and work efficiency on a day-to-day basis
• Participate to value creation in Gulf and lean from other clusters/CBUs best practices

B– Key Performance Indicators:

• Balanced Top line risks and Opportunities
• No overspend in budgets, proper analysis and actions towards variances
• Monthly P&Ls, Trade terms status and A&P spend shared with Head of Gulf and Innovations Controlling
• Monthly Innovations financial KPIs shared with IPRO
• Internal Controls necessary testing documents/files uploaded in the system timely.

C- Job Dimensions:

• Geographic scope of the job: Gulf Countries (UAE, KUW, QAT, OMN, BAH)
• Team management: None
• Functional management: None
• Main internal stakeholders: Country managers, Sales teams, Demand planning manager, Business Controllers in other clusters, FP&A and BS team, but also cross functional relations to Marketing, Medical, IT, and HR.
•  Main external relations: This role involves regular interactions with distributors

To be successful in the role you should ideally have:

Bachelor and Experience:

• Education: University degree in Accounting/Finance 

• Experience: 2-3 years experience in multinational firm or FMCG is preferred 

• English proficiency is a must

Functional Competencies:

• Good Microsoft Office skills, in particular, Excel and PP 
• Affinity for IT; understanding of ERP systems (previous experience in Essbase preferred

• Highly energetic 
• Can do mentality – embrace changes 

Location:

Cairo, Egypt or willing to relocate.

Languages required:

• Fluent in English and Arabic.
