<strong>Summary</strong><p><br></p>The Stores officer will support the management of the port stores and inventory control for all stores facilities within the port.<p><br></p>To provide leadership to the safe operation of the store’s facilities and stocked items within those facilities.<p><br></p>Support the implementation of the port’s computerised stock control to include financial and engineering management system integration.<p><br></p><strong>Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Supervise the inventory of spare parts and consumables for the Port’s Technical departments and instigate rigorous and robust processes to optimise the level and control of the stores. </li><li> Instigate recording of stock items by bar-code system and associated equipment </li><li> Negotiating with suppliers </li><li> Produce regular updates to status of work streams, parts delivery schedules and other ongoing projects. </li><li> Planned response to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving the store’s function. </li><li> Input to the procurement of products from an engineering perspective as well as a commercial perspective. </li><li> The incumbent shall be expected to take on other responsibilities or workstreams as directed. </li><li> Meeting objectives and strategies for parts and stores management </li><li> Support the construction of a Computerised Maintenance Management System from the Stores and inventory control perspective to allow tracking of all spare parts with a comprehensive catalogue including purchasing and requisitions. </li><li> Meeting the Inventory Management performance measures and key indicators </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Qualifications</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Minimum 5 years within the stores of a large container port. </li><li> IOSH Qualification preferred </li><li> Engineering Degree Preferably Inventory and Stock Control Management Qualifications </li><li> Proven experience of working within teams. </li><li> Regarded as an expert to the stores process and implementation of a stores computerize management systems </li><li> A problem-solving and analytical skills </li><li> interpersonal and communication skills</li></ul>
