Our passionate experts combine the power of proactive, always-on service and expertise with best-in-class tools and automation to deliver technology when and how our customers need it.</p><p><br></p><p>Rackspace has been commissioned by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to assure the build of a sovereign multi tenant private cloud that we have designed. Under contract Rackspace will fulfil 3 strategic functions, led by the Delivery Director, as part of a 3 year programme, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.</p><p><br></p><ul><li><strong>Design and Build Assurance</strong> – Overseeing the plans, schedule and build of 20 vendors, individually deploying to install and configure their infrastructure, according to the schedule and standards laid down by Rackspace</li><li><strong>CMP Development</strong> – Designing, Building and releasing MVPs into service which allow firstly administration functions to be created and utilised, leveraging automation, and subsequently building in further automation and service controls</li><li><strong>Strategic Advisory</strong> – Against a designed TOM laid down by Rackspace, supporting the mobilisation of resources, executing a training strategy, and providing expertise to build out the cloud management office</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Rackspace has a deep seated technical background, and is one of the few organisations that allows engineers to progress to the most senior organisational posts in the corporation. Over the last 2 decades Rackspace has applied its continuous improvement policies to deliver holistic, people, process and tech solutions.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p><p><br></p><p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Architect, ideally an Infrastructure SME (with skills in Orchestration and Automation)</strong> to deliver cloud transformational outcomes for our customers. Ideally, you will have experience working in a consulting role, leading other architects / engineers to deliver automated, secure and robust cloud infrastructure solutions.</p><p><br></p><p>We like people who get involved in all levels of technical discussions, from architecture to hands on coding. We are looking for a strong technical expert, with experience leading world-class teams on complex projects from inception to delivery.</p><p><br></p><p>This role will be permanently on-site with a customer in Riyadh (KSA). Arabic language skills will be highly advantageous.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions that optimize the performance, scalability, and security of our customer’s infrastructure. Your focus will be on developing and implementing efficient orchestration and automation strategies to streamline operations and improve productivity.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective cloud-based solutions.</li><li>Design and architect scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions, with a specific focus on orchestration and automation.</li><li>Develop strategies and implement frameworks for efficient orchestration and automation of cloud resources, including provisioning, configuration, and deployment.</li><li>Evaluate and recommend suitable cloud orchestration and automation tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.</li><li>Implement and manage cloud-based infrastructure services, including compute, storage, networking, and security components, utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles.</li><li>Create and maintain documentation related to cloud architecture, processes, and procedures.</li><li>Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed with cloud-friendly principles and can effectively leverage orchestration and automation capabilities.</li><li>Monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization, performance, and costs.</li><li>Identify potential risks and implement appropriate measures to ensure data security, compliance, and disaster recovery.</li><li>Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud computing, orchestration, and automation.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Strong knowledge of Private Cloud computing concepts, principles, and architectures (OpenStack, VMWare, etc.)</li><li>Proficiency in automation and orchestration technologies is essential. This includes experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell), network automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet), and orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes, OpenStack).</li><li>Strong skills in designing and architecting complex network solutions. This includes the ability to analyze business requirements, translate them into network designs, and ensure scalability, reliability, and security.</li><li>Understanding network security principles and best practices is critical. This includes knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, secure remote access, encryption protocols, and security frameworks.</li><li>Solid understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles and experience with related tools (e.g., CloudFormation, ARM Templates, etc.).</li><li>Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and practices, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>About Rackspace Technology</strong></p><p>We are the multicloud solutions experts.
