This position will be responsible for organizing, scheduling, a…<br><br>The Incinerator Supervisor will be based at one of three Amentum sites in Iraq and serve the Baghdad Life Support Services (BLiSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for organizing, scheduling, assigning, reviewing, supervising and participating in the performance of work of Incinerator Operations and will report to the Logistics Manager. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.<br><br><strong>DUTIES:<br></strong><ul><li>Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace. </li><li>Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. </li><li>Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation. </li><li>Supervise and participate in the work of employees engaged in the Incinerator Operations. </li><li>Ensure preventative maintenance is accomplished and conducts other duties as assigned by the Labor Supervisor. </li><li>Control operation of multiple-hearth incinerator furnaces and related equipment to burn trash and debris. </li><li>Push buttons and turn valves to ignite burners, release combustion air, add fuel, control hearth dampers, set hearth temperatures, and set length of burning cycles. </li><li>Observe meters and gauges on central control room panel to verify that flows, pressures, and temperatures are within specifications. </li><li>Turn controls to make routine adjustments, following standard procedures. </li><li>Open hearth doors and observes operation of waste raking mechanism to verify that burned</li><li>residue is swept to succeeding hearth. </li><li>Record specified meter and gauge readings on incinerator log. </li><li>Calculate and record values for number of tons of waste material fed per hour and quantity of auxiliary fuel burned per ton of waste material, to document efficiency of incinerator operation. </li><li>Monitor and adjust controls of auxiliary equipment, such as exhaust emissions, scrubbers, and incinerator heat recovery unit, following prescribed procedures. </li><li>Remove and clean equipment parts, such as valves, burners, and oxygen analyzers, following manuals and using hand tools. </li><li>Evaluate and discipline assigned staff. </li><li>Provide technical/safety training to crews. </li><li>Review and provide solutions to technical issues. Determine where improvements can be made and recommends changes. </li><li>Conduct safety meetings and training. </li><li>Monitor work for adherence to professional and mandated standards. </li><li>Maintain and review work records of crews. </li><li>Ensure that safe and efficient work practices and procedures are followed, including those pertaining to the setup of work sites, the use of equipment, the maintenance and storage of equipment, materials and tools, and the use of personal protective clothing and equipment. </li><li>Supervise the preparation of plans for the correction and removal of fire, life-safety and access compliance deficiencies which have been identified by fire and other code enforcement officers. </li><li>Attend departmental meetings and/or represents department at meetings as required. </li><li>Perform additional duties and projects as assigned. <br><br></li></ul><strong>REQUIRED:</strong> <ul><li> Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:</li><ul><li>Two (2) years’ experience in an international work environment. </li><li>Experience in a leadership role. </li></ul><li> Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</li><ul><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and the public. </li><li>Ability to compose memoranda relating to projects. </li><li>Ability to interact on a professional level with customers, staff, Facilities Manager, and Supervisor relating to incinerator operations. </li></ul><li> Education: A high school diploma or GED. </li><li> Passport, Licenses and Certifications: As part of pre-contingency requirements, by the time the visa process starts, candidates must possess a valid passport with a minimum of 18 months remaining to expiration date with 8 blank pages. Valid drivers’ license. </li><li> Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued security clearance or Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) or be able to obtain a favorable MRPT certification or US Government clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification or clearance level for the duration of the contract. </li><li> Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures. </li><li> Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by Amentum and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment. <br><br></li></ul><strong>DESIRED:<br></strong><ul><li>Previous out of home country experience is highly desirable and previous work experience n harsh environmental conditions is a plus. </li><li>Experience working with Amentum / PAE. <br><br></li></ul><strong>OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES</strong><strong>:<br></strong><ul><li>Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an</li><li>overseas facility. </li><li>Experience providing excellent customer services. </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules. </li><li>Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective. </li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills. </li><li>Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel. </li><li>Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team. </li><li>Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change. </li><li>Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information. <br><br></li></ul>Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
