<p><strong>Job Purpose:</strong></p><p> Become an actuarial subject matter expert on IFRS 17 (International Financial Reporting Standards). </p><p>Support the work required on IFRS 17 for GIG Gulf insurance operations in all the countries we operate in (UAE, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar) for local and group/consolidation reporting and requirements.</p><p>Work closely with the global, local team and external consultants to deliver the project according to the agreed scope and timeline.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li> Interpret the standard, challenge, and justify the methodologies and propose solutions to implement IFRS 17.</li><li>Develop and adapt actuarial reporting tools and modelling from design to implementation and user acceptance test</li><li>Lead the development and implementation of data request, reporting processes, actuarial reporting tools and modelling, and ensure that they are in line with best practice and with robust control.</li><li>Assess different possible scenarios on strategy of transition and earnings management.</li><li>Maintain a clearly documented audit trail of data, assumptions, methods, and financial results, as well as up-to-date documentation of methodology and processes</li><li>Drive work with consultants who will support us in the implementation roadmap</li><li>Key point of contact with auditors to ensure compliance</li><li>Coordinate with other project team members on the development of different work streams.</li><li>Assist in the communication of the new standard with all stakeholders in the organization (risk, finance, and others).</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li> University graduate in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related disciplines.</li><li>3 or more years’ experience in insurance industry</li><li>Advanced knowledge of MICROSOFT Office (Excel (Visual basic)/PowerPoint); R Studio R and Power BI</li><li>Able to work independently as well as a good team player</li><li>Strong ability to organize and detail oriented</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen motivation to deepen actuarial and financial knowledge</li><li>Good communication skills.</li><li>Self-motivated, able to work under pressure</li><li>Good command of business English, both in written and spoken form</li></ul><p></p>
