Summary

BACKGROUND

NEOM’s mandate to deploy 100% renewable energy has paved the way towards a carbon neutral energy economy. The competitive cost edge for green hydrogen production for readily available renewable electricity has opened a new market for H2 end-use business cases within NEOM and beyond. The technology and innovation (T&I) business unit in the Hydrogen department is responsible for enabling innovation through technology scouting, partnering with strategic players, and building an innovation ecosystem to drive low technology readiness level solutions into commercially feasible and implementable solutions. NEOM is located in a rich marine environment as a key asset to protect and enhance with a coastline length ranging 650km and multiple islands to be developed and launched, the motivation for ENOWA Hydrogen to be involved in maritime applications have grown significantly.
