- Analyze operational training and HSE support requirements for engineering team members and their primary activities and implement program of support.
- Provide on the job support to project personnel.
- Collate incident statistics and compile monthly HSE report.
- Develop as necessary, safety leadership skills particularly in support of fostering HSE change at operational task levels.
- Provide training services to risk group for JSA, Hazop, Hazop Chairmanship and risk management tools rollout and communication as required.
- A resource to assist Quality, HR and HSE where disciplines merge.
- Coordinate the occupational health needs of employees.
- Assist/coordinate organization of Pre employment medicals.
- Develop surveillance programs for employees where necessary.
- Develop induction process including assist in organization of refresher inductions.
- Develop and implement safety initiatives to continually improve safety culture.
- Assist with Project PPE requirements, including availability and restocking as required.
- Pro-actively visit sites and implement safety measures-promote/ensure safe work practices.
- Implement systems and develop people to be able to identify & manage hazards & potential incidents.
- Assist construction or alliance management personnel in identifying hazards and in planning and organising the job such that a safe working environment is maintained.
- Work with alliance partners to ensure project and alliance procedures and policies are fit for purpose and minimize duplication.
- As a Safety Advisor assist site management in the development and revision of specific site safety programs.
- Make recommendations, promote training, offer advice and liaise with personnel on a continuing basis regarding health, safety and the environment.
- Promote and help co-ordinate activities related to the rehabilitation of workers so as to affect a harmonious early return to work within a specifically structured program in accordance with the company’s rehabilitation program.
- Maintain a HSE audit and assessment program for the location.
- Monitor compliance with all relevant site and workplace legislative requirements including passage of information to managers and employees regarding amendments/ additions to requirements as they come into effect.
- Disseminate safety information throughout the workplace via bulletin boards, posters, newsletters etc.
- Assist line management and or construction supervisors in accident investigation process and report accordingly.
- Ensure HSE safety induction materials are developed and in place and are supported by an appropriate system of implementation for new starters and all employees with relation to recent changes and or additions.
- Monitor the availability and use of safety apparel and equipment. Restock as required.
- Assist in the overall development and implementation of safety initiatives to continually improve, achieve and maintain stated safety performance and objectives.
Essential Skills / Experience
- A high level of customer focus.
- Minimum 10 year experience in project H&S roles.
- Experience in multi team / multi interface roles.
Matching Indicators
- Previous experience in the Hydrocarbons, Construction, Mining or Power industry is essential.
- Experience in project H&S rules.
- Ability to develop HSE training programs and deliver same.
