<strong><u>Job Description</u></strong><p><br></p>About the Company<p><br></p>Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country’s crude oil production and natural gas supply.<p><br></p>Purpose of the Job<p><br></p>Responsible in providing expert guidance in HSE training, and coaching to employees in the organisation in order to raise competency in all aspects of HSE Management system.<p><br></p>Coaching and mentoring HSE advisors/professionals and other in HSE critical positons (including PDO and contractors) in the assets/projects/well Engineering, in order to close gaps and upskilling in HSE competency.<p><br></p>Support in the planning and execution of HSE critiacal activities in order to ensure safe execution and drive effective supervision, verifications and assurances.<p><br></p>Ensuring the itegration of HSE resources between assets/projects/Well Engineering in respective area/asset in order to assure maximum optimized/integrated usage of HSE resources.<p><br></p>Support HSE graduates/trainees in the development, monitoring and execution of their respective development program.<p><br></p>Support in carrying out the job competency assessments for HSE professionals and for those who are seating on HSE critical positions.<p><br></p>Responsible in providing expert guidance in HSE training, and coaching to employees in the organisation in order to raise competency in all aspects of HSE Management system.<p><br></p>Coaching and mentoring HSE advisors/professionals and other in HSE critical positons (including PDO and contractors) in the assets/projects/well Engineering, in order to close gaps and upskilling in HSE competency.<p><br></p>Support in the planning and execution of HSE critiacal activities in order to ensure safe execution and drive effective supervision, verifications and assurances.<p><br></p>Ensuring the itegration of HSE resources between assets/projects/Well Engineering in respective area/asset in order to assure maximum optimized/integrated usage of HSE resources.<p><br></p>Support HSE graduates/trainees in the development, monitoring and execution of their respective development program.<p><br></p>Support in carrying out the job competency assessments for HSE professionals and for those who are seating on HSE critical positions.<p><br></p>Education &amp; Experience<p><br></p><ul><li>Degree in science or engineering discipline and a minimum of 12 years experience in Technical/ Engineering/Operations activities, preferably in an Oil &amp; Gas industry, including at least 5 years in Senior HSE advisory role, or</li><li>NEBOSH (National Educational Board of Occupational Safety &amp; Health) Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or NVQ equivlant) and a minimum of 15 years experience in Technical/ Engineering/Operations activities, preferably in an Oil &amp; Gas industry, including at least 7 years in Senior HSE advisory role.</li><li>Extensive experience in HSE management, preferably in a senior or leadership role.</li><li>Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.</li><li>Proven track record in developing and delivering effective HSE training programs.</li><li>Experience in conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.</li><li>Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.</li><li>Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage competing deadlines effectively.</li></ul><p><br></p>Main Responsibilities<p><br></p><ul><li>Guide and support the senior management team in the demonstration of visible, felt and caring HSE Leadership and Commitmment.</li><li>Provide support to Contract holders in effective implementation of HSE Management System.</li><li>Drive and support the implementation of HSE Competence Assurance and Conduct HSE Competence Assessments.</li><li>Provide advice and support to all risk management activities. </li><li>Participate in Directorates AI-PSM initiatives and ensure Level 3 Audit Assurance is carried out.</li><li>Participate in HAZOP/HAZID/SIL and relevant AI-PSM risk management Studies.</li><li>Support the development / revisions and implement Standards and Procedures.</li><li>Provide effective Supervison on the execution of High HSE risk activities.</li><li>Advise Operations / production supervisors in the day-to-day safety matters including dissemination and implementation of Learning form incidents, the safety policies, rules and procedures within the scope of field operations.</li><li>Assist Field Operations to implement and embed HSE programs in the concession applicable to all Staff &amp; contractors.</li><li>Provide timely intervention for unsafe acts/conditions</li><li>Provide support to Emergency Response activities</li><li>Drive the HSE performance improvement through data reviews and implement corrective actions.</li><li>Provide expertise in HSE reporting and incident investigations.</li><li>Coordinate and Support the provision of HSE Assurance.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Skills Required</u></strong><p><br></p>Other Job Details
