Responsibilities
1. The HSE Supervisor has a specialist function to support, develop, guide, inspect and report on HSE aspects of the NOVOMET operations in order to achieve compliance with Customer and Company standards.
2. HSE Supervisor assists with the implementation of the NOVOMET Integrated Management System and Iraq specific IMS documents to a standard acceptable to Customers and Company.
3. The HSE Supervisor advises on the development and implementation of procedures, work instructions and records for all product lines.
4. Monitors, inspects and advises on HSE matters including systems of work, fire, safety
occupational health and environmental control systems and equipment.
5. The HSE Supervisor provides HSE training to staff, as feasible and required.
6. HSE Supervisor assists the HSE Manager with HSE related legal compliance matters to achieve and maintain legal compliance.
7. HSE Supervisor actively develops and promotes a proactive HSE culture with the aim to achieve excellence.
8. The HSE Supervisor helps to prepare and co-presents Weekly / Monthly Safety Meetings and records the minutes with meeting actions.
9. Observes emergency drills and exercises; and promotes safety awareness among facilities personnel.
10. The HSE Supervisor performs any other tasks as instructed by Line Management, provided the instruction is reasonable and the job holder is capable and deemed competent to fulfil these.
11. The HSE Supervisor communicates information on the HSE Management System throughout the organization and promotes HSE awareness.
12. The HSE Supervisor participate in investigation of incidents and ensure proper records are completed and submitted. Ensure implementation of corrective actions as it relates to the incident and ensure “Lessons Learned” are communicated throughout the Company and are incorporated in policy/procedure, if necessary.
13. Participate in development and maintenance of a site specific Emergency Management Plan and communicate this plan through orientation to all personnel.
14. Oversee Company’s HSE incentive programs and periodically reviews them to ensure they are accomplishing the desired results. Make necessary changes to the program to maximize effect.
15. Carries out regular inspections on rig, living quarters and working facilities to ensure proper adherence to the company’s regulations and procedures.
16. Analyze HSE statistics to identify trends and develop Action Plans to minimize incident rates and improve HSE performance.
17. Ensure that all subcontractors HSE systems and plans are acceptable to the company as applicable to a contract, and ensure that Contractor’ HSE systems are implemented and effective.
18. Participates in liaising with third party subcontractors, Clients and local agencies regarding HSE.
19. Performs other additional responsibilities as assigned by HSE Manager.
