A hands-on role, focused on medical emergency response and enabling day-to-day health operations. The individual would work closely with the Emergency and Health Operations Manager and assist in organizing all medical emergency response across NEOM communities and worksites, be active in external relations with the emergency response service providers, relevant base economy medical facilities and internal stakeholders. The individual would also assist in coordination and lead activities to ensure the delivery of appropriate day-to-day health services across NEOM communities.
Key Accountabilities & Activities:
- Assist in and support in the following:
- Development, updating and roll-out of a comprehensive Medical Emergency Response Plan (MERP)
- Training and readiness sessions
- Tracking emergency incidents, identify patterns and proactively propose solutions to minimize or eliminate the occurrence of emergencies
- Regular reviews or assessments to ensure resource availability, protocol appropriateness and ensure risks are clearly identified and managed/mitigated
- Assist and lead assigned tasks in the case of an emergency and implementing of appropriate protocols and ensuring health and safety of affected persons informed by clinical decisions
- Liaise with medical facilities when patients are transferred to non-NEOM facilities and physically join the patient at the facility to ensure the process is efficiently managed and to provide support to patient as needed
- Give input to regular and informative updates to relevant stakeholders, during and after any emergency event
- Assist and lead post-event reviews and prepare management reports on event, learnings and recommendations for avoiding incidents or improving response in the future
- Assist in contacts with vendors for the healthcare service operations (incl. advanced health center, clinics, laboratory, helicopter, and health events)
- Collect and assess the relevant community health and operator performance data and conduct periodic reviews of the state of community health, performance of vendors, etc.
- Working with vendors, monitoring any patients or patients serviced by non-NEOM facilities and prepare relevant updates to respective stakeholders
- Support in the assimilation of any complaints/issues/hazards/violations, develop recommendations, escalate appropriately, and monitor until resolution
- Support in the coordination and delivery of health-related events (e.g., education initiatives, screening events, etc.) and support in post event analysis to assess reach, impact, key learnings and areas for improvement
Background, Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years’ experience in emergency management and/or health care operations
- Experience in emergency response operations for remote areas highly desirable
- Must speak Arabic and English
- Undergraduate qualification preferred (specialism in emergency response, disaster management, medicine, logistics/operations, or related field)
- An advanced post-graduate degree or studies in medicine, public health management is highly beneficial
