Job Description
As the Middle East’s Head of Public Affairs and Government Relations you will be an instrumental member of our team working across the UAE, Kuwait and Qatar. Your job will be to represent Deliveroo with external audiences who shape our legislative environment, making sure our positions are heard and understood. You will manage existing relationships with regulators, develop our contacts across the region and build local coalitions that pave the way for smart policy. You will report directly into the VP Global Communications and work with both our in-market and global teams.
What you’ll do:
- Establish strategic relationships with government and policy makers, regulatory agencies and community leaders. Youβll meet with them regularly to build trust and mutual interest, reduce potential obstacles and convey our priorities.
- Advise the business on legislative and regulatory developments across the UAE, Kuwait and Qatar, keeping central partners informed and involved.
- Help set and carry-out the public policy and advocacy agenda for our company, working collaboratively with other teams and executives to ensure alignment between business objectives, policy and community outreach goals.
- Collaborate with other Deliveroo team members on operations, marketing, and local media activities.
Requirements
- 4+ years experience in government affairs, political campaigns, or business development in a government-related environment in the Middle East.
- Government affairs know-how, and cultural understanding of the UAE, Kuwait and Qatar markets.
- The appetite to fearlessly advocate for Deliveroo.
- A strong business approach and experience finding strategic wins even in the face of initial resistance and risk.
- Excellent written and verbal communication/people skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic.
- Existing government, transportation and advocacy contacts and relationships in the three markets preferred but not an essential requirement.
