Job Description

We are looking for “Head, Media & Public Relations” for Qatar Location. Its an urgent requirement.

JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
To supervise and monitor the delivery of corporate communication services with specific responsibility of providing responses to media enquiries related to the Company and its activities along with any other external communication (e.g. social media) to ensure that Company’s brand and public image continue to be positively perceived. Organize internal employee events, intranet enhancements, creation and delivery of internal corporate communications, and other related activities to ensure common and homogeneous communication to all internal stakeholders.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategy and Performance Management

– Contribute to the development and execution of the Department short to mid-term strategic plan to ensure alignment with the Department’s strategic priorities, and the corporate goals.
– Contribute to the development of annual business plans for the assigned areas of responsibility to support the achievement of financial and strategic objectives.
– Monitor, control and report key performance indicators related to the Section in order to track performance and recommend corrective actions.
– Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis to measure efficiency of PR programs in the company and the community.

People Management

– Manage the activities of direct reports to ensure that all work is carried out in an efficient manner, in line with the annual business plans, policies and procedures.
– Manage the performance management process by setting annual objectives, and developing staff through mentoring, coaching and constructive feedback.
– Identify employees’ training and developmental needs and in conjunction with Human Capital Department bridge the knowledge gaps to ensure continuous progression, and high-level of competence within the team.
– Implement developmental plans to assist qualified Qatari Nationals to occupy potential vacancies so as to adhere to stipulated Qatarisation targets.

Organization Structure

– Contribute in defining an optimum structure for the Section, to ensure smooth workflow of operational processes and optimal utilization of resources.

Budget Planning

– Provide input into the preparation and consolidation of the Section’s budget, monitor financial performance during the year and identify areas of unsatisfactory performance (if any), and recommend mitigating actions.

Media/ PR Relations

– Supervise the provision of responses to media enquiries related to company and its activities ensuring that company’s brand and public image continue to be positively perceived.
– Manage the preparation of special events through PR activities that generate media exposure, arranging interviews with company’s management and preparing press conference, media gathering and meetings.

Social Media Promotion

– Supervise the creation and delivery of press releases, media relations content, case studies, corporate newsletters content, social media/ website content and speaking proposals to continuously ensure that company brand image is protected and well perceived.

Internal Communication

– Set-up and deliver communication processes that improve employee engagement and support employees’ understanding of business priorities and performance.
– Ensure regular internal messaging relating to circulars, E-newsletter, new appointments, public holidays etc. in order to keep company’s staff up to date with latest news and developments pertaining to the organization.
– Prepare adequate gift catalogues and brochures suitable for various occasions and that promotes a good image of company internally.

Corporate Awareness

– Ensure the external circulation of all relevant and useful articles, pamphlets, brochures, corporate gifts, and papers relating to company and the O&G/ Petrochemicals industry with the aim to raise knowledge and awareness on new developments

Events Management

– Participate as required in various local and international events, conferences, exhibitions, shows, career fairs, etc., and network with various external stakeholders.
– Assist in the management of all company’s sponsorship events ensuring all brand guidelines are continuously followed.
– Supervise the development and communication of concepts and proposals for Company ’s attendance at events with the aim of positioning company’s in a unique and impactful way, in line with brand identity and excellence standards.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

– Recommend improvements to departmental procedures, and ensure implementation of policies, procedures, systems and controls covering the assigned areas of responsibility so that all activities meet company’s standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements, align to business requirements, and increase operational efficiency.
– Identify opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering ‘international leading practices’, in order to increase operational effectiveness.

Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment

– Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across the Section to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high quality products/services.

Reporting

– Ensure that all relative reports are prepared timely and accurately, and meet the Department’s requirements, policies and standards.
