Job Description

<p>Head of Finance will report to the CEO and is also responsible for the financial oversight and management of the business. The position will also report to the Board on finance issues as the business is a virtual assets trading platform, regulated by FSRA and based in ADGM.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>• Work with senior management team to grow the business formulating strategies and plans with complete financial appraisals where appropriate including analysis and recommendations.</p><p>• Working with the CEO, to develop, implement and review the business strategy ensuring financial viability and optimum return on investment.</p><p>• Overall cash management on an ongoing basis – closely and accurately monitor cash, working capital and capital spend to ensure that the business has sufficient funds to profitably operate, invest and grow.</p><p>• Formulation of annual budgets and targets including development and implementation of an agreed financial plan (short and long term) for the business.</p><p>• Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including that efficient and effective accounting and administration systems are in place.</p><p>• Responsibility for ensuring that the business is compliant with all internal and external accounting, financial and legal requirements. Set up and implement an appropriate and effective audit and review program.</p><p>• On boarding of banks for opening corporate and settlement accounts. Ensuring the fiat settlement for the pay in and pay out between settlement bank and client accounts is performed as per the established procedures and policies.</p><p>• Ensure accounting system fully aligned with back admin of Exchange, and regularly updated with income/expense data for trading and transactions performed by clients.</p><p>• Ensure full compliance with FTA by registration, timely VAT return submission and payments.</p><p>• Prudential reporting to FSRA on quarterly basis.</p><p>• Ensure full cooperation with compliance department in filing FATCA reports.</p><p>• Conduct ESR diagnosis then notify and report accordingly.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Skills &amp; Qualification: </strong></p><p>• Fully qualified Chartered Accountant with all levels of experience, master’s degree in finance or related field required.</p><p>• Excellent commercial and business experience.</p><p>• Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision making.</p><p>• Experience of successfully implementing and achieving significant business growth both organically and through identifying, evaluating, and implementing business acquisitions.</p><p>• Implementer with clear and pragmatic ability to turn strategy into actions.</p><p>• Prepared to readily switch between strategic thinking and sharp end implementation.</p><p>• Resilient and capable of working under pressure to specific deadlines and objectives while also ensuring a high work quality.</p><p>• At least 8 years solid experience in related disciplines in an exchange, bank, or development institution.</p><p>• Solid understanding of the commodities and capital markets value chains with a solid network in the sector including government level, NGOs, development organizations, research bodies, traders, and the private sector.</p><p>• Good knowledge of financial markets and products especially digital assets, securities, and derivatives; familiar with financial market operations and rules and regulations.</p><p>• Good knowledge of electronic trading and how technology drives such business.</p><p>• Technology savvy in terms of how it can then be used to enable the business.</p>
