Hatchery Manager
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cooperate with the production manager, veterinary manager, and broiler manager to maintain and improve broiler performance
- Lead and develop the hatchery team and assist them to achieve performance goals
- Support the hatchery team on matters relating to the day to day running of the hatchery
- Maintain database and analysis of all important hatchery data.
- Supervise in-ovo and day-old chick vaccination procedures.
- Ensure required biosecurity procedures are met and further developed
- Ensure required standards are met for animal welfare, work health and safety, quality, and quarantine
- Monitor and manage the budget
- Plan and manage egg requirement from own hatching egg production and import.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in modern poultry farming and hatchery management processes.
- Experience with Petershime setters and hatchers
- Experience providing and analyzing operations reports
- Proven ability to coach and develop team members
- Proven organizational and time management skills
