They are what we believe, what customers can expect, and how we deliver.<p><br></p><strong><u>Project Overview</u></strong><p><br></p>Jubail is one of Bechtel’s most remarkable achievements—a city built from the sand up, requiring vast resources and logistical planning on an unprecedented scale. It the biggest civil engineering project in modern times—and it’s getting bigger. Bechtel has managed the Jubail project, located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, since it began in the mid-1970s. Bechtel serves as the Management Services Contractor (MSC), or “owner’s representative” for our client, the Royal Commission (RC). We are the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) managers, managing design submissions from local AE firms, and overseeing the actual construction work being performed by local contractors and sub-contractors in Jubail and Ras-Al-Khair Industrial Cities. In June 2021, Bechtel’s contract with the Royal Commission was renewed for another 5 years with work focusing on building new residential communities, iconic buildings/ bridges, major site preparation, commercial buildings, mosques, schools, hospitals, sports facilities, clinics, universities, utility services and infrastructure (electrical sub-stations, lift stations), roads and highways, port &amp; pipeline expansions, and more.<p><br></p><strong>Work Location: Ras-Al-Khair</strong><p><br></p><strong>The work location for this position is in Ras-Al-Khair which is located about 90 KMS north of Jubail Industrial City. You will be required to commute Jubail – Ras-Al-Khair – Jubail daily using the available transportation facility /shuttle bus service. The accommodation will be provided at Jubail Industrial City.</strong><p><br></p><strong><u>Major Responsibilities</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Directly performs or administers work of designers and drafters of a design group </li><li> Prepares or assists with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations. </li><li> Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy. </li><li> Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort. </li><li> Assist or makes jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents. </li><li> Reviews or defines engineering scope changes, as required, for project management. </li><li> Endorses or prepares reports of work progress, as required, for project and discipline use. </li><li> Maintains up-to-date skills in Bechtel Standard Computer Applications (BSAPs) relevant to design work and ensures that maximum use is made thereof. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Skills And Qualifications</u></strong><p><br></p><strong>Essential Technical: </strong><p><br></p><ul><li> A recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with extensive experience in design and drafting. </li><li> Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the Engineering/construction industry. </li><li> Minimum of 4 years of experience in the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Essential Behavioral</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Participates in the operation of a small size design group in a particular discipline. </li><li> Assists in the preparation of plans and assist the assigned work to meet the project schedules. </li><li> Requires a basic knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, 2-D and 3-D CAD, reading of drawings and reproduction methods used by the discipline. </li><li> Accommodate the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment. </li><li> Skilled in oral and written communication. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Preferred Technical</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Knowledge of engineering design principles (civil, mechanical, architectural, electrical, etc.) </li><li> Knowledge of graphic design principles and elements. </li><li> Specialized courses in drafting, design and engineering practices, and CAD. </li><li> Specialized knowledge in design infographics, motion graphics, reports, informative maps, flow charts, and layouts using Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and other graphic design software. </li><li> Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) and geographic information systems (GIS). </li><li> Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to the discipline’s design responsibilities. </li><li> Knowledge of Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), industry and regulatory standards, design criteria and codes relevant to the discipline. </li><li> Knowledge of discipline Design Guides, mathematical formulae and design calculations used in the discipline. </li><li> Knowledge of technical responsibilities of other groups associated with the total design effort. </li><li> Knowledge of procedures used for the procurement and quantity control of bulk materials applicable to the discipline. </li><li> Knowledge of Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), industry and regulatory standards, design criteria and codes relevant to the discipline. </li><li> Knowledge of discipline Design Guides, mathematical formulae and design calculations used in the discipline. </li><li> Knowledge of technical responsibilities of other groups associated with the total design effort. </li><li> Accountable for producing drawings and documents in compliance with project CAD standard and specifications, and that engineering activities are completed on schedule, within budget and to quality standards. </li><li> Knows applicable industry standards and codes, accepted design practices and quality standards for a global business unit </li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Preferred Behavioral</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Self-motivated individual with good leadership skills and experience and the ability to influence without authority. </li><li> Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders to make critical decisions where required. </li><li> Ability to work within an integrated RC/Bechtel team at multiple levels from working level to Project Manager level. </li><li> Ability to work within a culturally diverse organization, recognizing and respecting differences. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Shaping tomorrow together</strong><p><br></p><strong>Bechtel is one of the most respected global engineering, construction, and project management companies.
